We're super pleased to welcome Arabian Panther to the series. The French/Lebanese producer and DJ is a favorite amongst the GF team. He's a founding member of the Toulouse Gouffre Club, which is a label and collective, and will release their debut next week on June 21st. A committed artist, he is very close to the Palestinian scene and cause. He signed his first track on the first Palestinian techno label “Harara” and was able to perform twice in Ramallah and Haifa. He recently released a track on Jennifer Cardini's label, Dischi Autunno, and is currently working on his debut album. He’s a 5-year resident at Monticule Festival and Radio Flouka. His style oscillates between warrior downtempo, slow goa, EBM, and everything in between. His hour-long selection is an energetic slo-mo journey perfect for the weather here in the city. Lock in!

Anhalt EBM describes a late 2000s trend in electronic body music (EBM), where bands influenced by old school EBM pioneers Nitzer Ebb and DAF, present a minimalistic, energy-filled, and sometimes punk influenced electronic music style The subgenre's name stems from an area in Eastern Germany Saxony-Anhalt, due to strong community there. including both bands and fans. Up until 2010 the genre has been mostly dominated by German and Swedish bands, but during the last years bands from many other countries have emerged, spreading the genre across the world.

Anhalt EBM can be described as minimalist electronic music with an energy filled and tough masculine attitude. However, various variations of the genre have emerged, i.e. some Swedish bands have gone an entirely punk influenced style of EBM (Container 90, T.W.A.T., Stockholm Wrecking Crew). Otherwise, variations of straight forward, usually closer to the style of That Total Age album by Nitzer Ebb, minimalist bands with militarist (but non-politic) attitude are common (Spetsnaz, Ionic Vision, Orange Sector, and many others). Some bands have added more playful and catchy elements, drawing on some NDW influence as well (Sturm Café, Bodystyler).

3kAL DRoID MoDuL3 (@3kal-droid-modul3), formerly known as David Sánchez, is a passionate vinyl collector from Madrid with a rich collection dating back to the late 90s. He crafts mixes blending various musical genres, influenced by techno, electro, and EBM sounds, always honoring 90s club culture. In the 2000s, known as DJ Dave, he co-founded the Area EBM collective, leaving his mark on Madrid's club scene alongside artists like Arcanoid, Cristian Wunsch, and DJ Pepo. Now, he's back under a new alias that reflects his love for both machines and futuristic music with an over 3-hour podcast that not only displays his skills and extensive knowledge but also embodies the respect and profound passion he brings to music. Throughout the 1980s, Michael Antener, born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, initiated an array of sonic endeavours in the realm of industrial, dark, aggressive music. Of his times as a post-apocalyptic hunter, he says today: "I found a musical niche where I could express myself, along with other people who were not afraid of dark themes. It would have been hard to sing about love in my music, so I included sounds and cries of pain taken from horror movies." 

It was a fortunate coincidence to come across one of his self-released records, the 1986 EP "Strangler of the Swamp", which marked the beginning of our quest to find this all but forgotten musician whose work seemed nowhere to be found. Eventually, we got in touch with Michael, who is still living in Bern, and began the process of searching through all his surviving musical and visual material. 

The triple vinyl release is all about documenting Michael Antener’s adventures during that intense 1980s period. We tried our best to select the most interesting material from his two earliest projects, "The Strangler of the Swamp" and "Bande Berne Crematoire", comprising materials from vinyl records, cassettes, and live recordings, some of it unreleased. The release also includes a deep dive into Michael’s visual archive of posters, photos, and sleeve artworks. 

The disjointed, tumultuous body of work presented here marks the testament of a fringe musician who was disruptive and confrontational, keen to shock and alarm people (much to our liking), and who could easily have been lost in oblivion.
