Great imagery Op. Orchestral placements all really good. 👍🎹🎧

This piece was inspired  by a trip to York Railway Museum some years ago, and the enormous Chinese locomotive on display: the KF7.

I imagined what would it be like if such a monster of a machine was possessed by the Devil himself, and the chaos and carnage it would leave in its wake as it hurtled along the railway line. 

This piece has been composed using orchestral samples and some electronica for sound FX. The sound of the train driving forward was created using clusters of  double basses and cellos.

A continuation in my series of clouds - lately quite dark, reflecting current state of affairs. The first cloud is based on an older piano work of mine, 'Weill in the Mood Nr 1', a composition that rather begged for electronic accompaniment/manipulation.

Here to be found in my first string quintet; quirky, abrasive and seemingly complicated sections/gestures are all kept in check by the employment of Sonata form.

String Quintet Nr 1 in D minor

My final work in a series of three Expressionist sonatas; 'Sonata for Violin and Piano' is a 12-tone work that - perhaps nostalgically - ventures back into the world of the early 20th century Wiemar Republic.
