Ian's work was unknown to me prior to him sending me over his mix, but a further look into his page and profile has uncovered some

"My musical foundations are rooted in AC/DC, Sabbath and Metallica and give rise to a love of 4/4 rhythm and the riff. From here they veered into where worlds collide – Pink Floyd met the Orb in a student dive and a love of electronica was born, encompassing pioneers such as Orbital, Leftfield et al through to UK D&B, taking in Kruder & Dorfmeister and the dub scene along the way.
The love affair however ended in the early nineties, I wasn’t feeling anything from electronica any more, but I knew the music I could hear in my mind must be out there - somewhere. My musical imaginations seemed to put all of the above aspects in place and was only discovered pre pandemic in the form of deep techno. This discovery so rekindled my love and excitement that I took the plunge into DJing - I wanted to take the music internally heard and create mixes to ease back to and soothe the soul. Voila. I hope you all get the same level of enjoyment from this mix, as I had creating it." - Morian.

Andrey Sirotkin is electronic music producer and dj from Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2013, after 6 years of experiments with sound and music of different genres Andrey focuses on techno with new project Shade Of Drums. It's the year of 1st SOD EP called "The Universe" been released. Next steps were releasing digital EP "Cyclic Numbers|02" in 2014 and two vinyl only releases "CNEP01" in 2017 and "CNEP02" in 2019. After short break Andrey decides to focus on hardware sound and changes the alias to Andrey Sirotkin. Under this alias in 2019 he releases debut EP at Rune records and two remixes – Atomic Simao 'Warped' and Windom R 'Swallow'. 2020 added to Andrey's discography releases at Ukrainian labels Corridor Audio and Subself records. 2021 started with 2 self released singles – "Bring the light" (the mixture of bass and idm music) and "500 years into the future" (deep dubstep track) before the big EP "Vyrij" been released at Mystictrax. Tracks from that were supported by Heap (at Dekmantel Selection series), Jack Doe and Richie Howtin to name a few. This year is also notable for making modular ambient/experimental modular music with Vlad Suppish. 1hr sessions/jams were performed live at events and also recorded for Systema (Odessa) and NFT radio. The end of the year was marked with dub techno tracks "303 phalls" and "See you later" to be released at "Insectorama" label.

2022 started for Andrey with no as it was expected but with attack of russia on Ukraine. Despite the terrible things that were happening around Andrey continued to work his music and to express his feelings with music.
This is how releases "Her soul sparkles", "Be Here Now", "Imperfection Is Beautiful" and "My Shelter / Nothing Is Safe" seen the world.
After returning to Kyiv from western part ok Ukraine Andrey started his own radioshow at capital-based new radio Gasoline called "Against The Grain" which is dedicated to non-mainstream, deep, atmospheric and experimental electronic music.

Here is the 370th chapter of the Deep Electronics serie. Every two weeks the serie brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This week DJ BIRCH makes her debut on the channel with a set that can be decribed as a walk into the forest with all different layers of colors, sounds and surroundings. Just as she used the type of genres of music to paint this walk. So Enjoy!

BIO:
DJ BIRCH is a Halle (Germany) based DJ, curator, and cultural 
organizer. She conducts DJ workshops and offers platforms aimed at 
empowering FLINTA* people (female, lesbian, intersexual, non-binary, transgender and agender, the asterisk * stands for everyone who cannot identify with any of the letters and who is marginalized in patriarchal majority societies) of all backgrounds. Being involved 
in the @djversity! and @featfem crews, she works to create more 
diversity in music scenes and club cultures, showcasing a range of 
FLINTA* artists. She and her crews want to emphasize that there are 
many FLINTA* talents who can be booked for club events or festivals. 
DJ BIRCH co-hosts the podcast series of Feat. Fem and she curates 
the SLOTS events at Pierre Grasse in Halle. Her genre-crossing sounds blend trippy rhythms, fluctuating between melodic and more abrasive timbres and shaping sounds that feel light and heavy at the same time. This creates a journey with dualistic atmospheres, eventempered textures, spiraling synth patterns, bouncy bassline heaters and eerie ambiances. All these sonic ventures are rooted in DJ BIRCH’s much larger yearning for societal change: In her formative years, DJs seemed ‘untouchable’ and FLINTA* DJs were 
underrepresented. For a long time, this produced the feeling that 
the music world is one where she can only play the role as an 
observer and DJed mainly at home (unless friends vehemently askedher to play at their events). Through different music collectives, BIRCH was able to break down these invisible walls and make sense of the structural problems in electronic music culture, music production and DJing. With fresh courage she stepped out of the background. Today she loves to perform her music at different venues and on many platforms. Aside from her DJ passion, it is a matterclose to her heart to pass this unearthed fearlessness onto others.

THE SET: 
This set was recorded in Winter 2021/2022, a time in which DJ BIRCH 
was struggling with pandemic restrictions, personal crises, and the 
bittersweet melancholy of a grey winter in Germany. With the name 
Deep in the Birch Forest, it reflects a slight touch of the gloom 
of a foggy forest combined with a hopeful, gentle flow, deepness, 
and rhythmic layers which are connected to the woods: A magical 
place where DJ BIRCH restores her energy, finds inspiration, and 
loves to perform music. Let the ambient and slow techno vibrations 
guide you deep into the forest.

Hailing from Kristiansund on the northwest coast of Norway, Helge Tømmervåg has been crafting electronic sounds since the early '80s. His earliest work recorded under the now-familiar Mind over MIDI moniker arrived in the early '90s. He's released scores of highly regarded and stylistically uncompromising sounds over the years, appearing on labels including Silent Seasons, Diametric, Hibernate, Whitelabrecs, ROHS! Lontano Series, Shimmering Moods Records, Slow Tones Collages and via his own Berserk Fabrik.
