With a new outstanding EP, Japanese artist @tomoyoshidnb offers a superb rounded packed full of certified smashers for all partisans of true rollers, classic Bristol Jungle and dope JumpUp. Inspired by labels like Dope Dragon, Trouble on Vinyl, early V Recordings and True Playaz, Tomoyoshi brings his full spectrum of signature production skills to the game. The title track "Soldier" is a hypnotic, streetwise and dark roll-out with Reggae vocal snips and a kind of Mobb Deep vibe. A nod to Tomoyoshi's classic Bristol Jungle influence, rewind-candidate "Era" pays homage to the legendary sound of Roni Size and crew as Breakbeat Era. "Slater" stays in the Bristol vein adding a mental bouncing bassline, jazzy bells plus FXs creeping deep into the subconscious reminding of some of the best DJ Die releases on V Recordings. No stranger to fusing Asian melodies with contemporary dancefloor needs, Tomoyoshi uses sublime chimes in combination with a beat structure influenced by HipHop, Rock and Drumfunk alike on "Miso". Crispy beats, moody xylophone speckles, famous Jungle breaks in the switch and the distinctive "six million ways to die"-sample make "Bug" another sure shot on this heavy-weight release. "Acid Chill" rounds of the package and does exactly what it says on the tin: Acid squelches ride over percussive patterns, deep bassline-modulations and jazz-infused atmospheres.

DJ, producer and label manager Gold Dubs (Born On Road) flexes his distinctive style and skills on the sure shot rewind candidate “New World”. Old school rave strings combine with crunchy drum breaks in the intro which leads to a serious drop into one of the dirtiest basslines of the year accompanied by skippy Jungle beats in the switch. Forget all those bassline tracks with animal names, this one is the real beast which will cause 100% havoc! 


“Lost Translations” is the definition of rolling, funky Drum and Bass with a dark hoovering bassline. A hypnotic synth leads through the mental ride whilst a serious amount of groove will keep you stepping. “Reshape” uses the classic “to shape the future” vocal-sample and FX on a fresh techy roller full of bubbling energy and rolling drum work for the headz. “The Truth” comes ruff and rugged with cutting edge bassline modulations and different Jungle breaks chopped and combined in an inimitable way.

The number one DJ and producer of the Latin-American Jungle scene, Mexico city’s Isaac Maya is providing his trademark mixture of Reggae, Dub and Jungle sounds on the remix. The original by Speaker Louis has been one of the anthems of the seminal “The City Is Burning EP”, and Original Key is about to unveil many more remixes of this EP in the upcoming months. 



Maya is taking on the rolling vibe of the original riddim accompanied by determined Ragga vocals, tension-filled strings and eerie FX as the DJ-friendly intro leads to a stripped back clap-driven stepper. The arrangement is filled with exciting breaks and huge saw-lead synths, as well as sirens and sound system noises thrown in for good measure.
