The title of the imprint "static motion" suggests an innately paradoxical notion—a state of movement and non-movement at once, evoking a concept of being which seemingly cannot exist in the physical realm, or, inversely, a concept which exists in the realm of impermanence, without natural order, law or structure. The overarching dichotomies of time versus timelessness, being versus non-being direct the artistic approach of static motion towards that which is meditative and abstract, all through soundscapes of permanent foundations and fleeting details. 

The collaboration between rookas and Undveld is a three part work utilizing subtle contrast, fusing modulations with continuous waves, interchanging potent driving forces with a sense of stillness, and juxtaposing tense distortion with tranquil ambient depths. With each track, the EP focuses on the sonic details decorating the concrete foundations of techno as both artists delve into their familiar musical fields, yet remaining inventive, intense and capable of expressing change through constant variation of electronic tones and dynamic rhythms.
