Oslo's Sommerfeldt returns to home label badabing diskos with another EP of terrific disco, house and dub cuts.

Sommerfeldt has been cooking up his own fresh Scandi-sounds for more than 10 years. He has landed on this label as a solo artist but also with the likes of Sigmund Floyd, while also releasing on labels including Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp, Beatservice and Paper Recordings. He has remixed artists such as Amp Fiddler and is a mainstay of the club scene in Oslo who always brings the party.

The dub version of ´Tell Me What To Do´ presents an intimate atmosphere with organic percussion and extra synth sparkle. The track has a warm, wavy bass line and balmy cosmic pads up top. Another timeless fusion of house and cosmic disco from Sommerfeldt.

Not to hot, not to cold, a perfectly tempered collaboration between mexican live artist Picotropico and nordic soul Vinny Villbass. Together they have created two magical club tracks that operate in slightly different directions, but both truthful to the warm analog sound characteristic to badabing diskos.

 Mexican Winter ́ shows a funky landscape with hints of ska thru rhythmic upstrokes and dubby analog percussion. The analog synths circulate the groove with hypnotic and psychedelic modulation.

Here is the first remix pack from Christian Smith's album 'Stranger Than Paradise'. We were lucky to enlist some of our favourite new and established producers. This pack includes three remixes from NYC house legend Harry Romero ironically delivering a storming techno remix; Dutch techno legend Steve Rachmad giving us a classy, dubby and filtered mix, and upcoming Italian artist Paride Saraceni beefing up the original "Transition" track. Blåmuggost is a track pulled from the archives, it originates from the Motion Control liveshow done at the Beatservice Records 5 years anniversary show at Blå in Oslo. Later the same year, friend and colleague from the Bergen club scene Bjørn Torske made a remix. For some reason, this remix has also been kept in the archives. Until now!

From the vibrant shores of Portugal to the pulsating heart of Berlin, Jepe has carved out a unique and captivating presence in the global electronic music scene.

Jepe's musical journey began in Aveiro, a coastal town near Porto, where he was drawn to the rhythmic energy of the ocean. At just 16 he had his own radio show, and by 19 he was already commanding the decks at one of the biggest clubs in his hometown. 

As one half of duo Johnwaynes, he made waves with releases on   Mulemusiq, Compost Records, Get Physical, and Cecille. And in 2013, Jepe embarked on a solo path, spanning top labels such as Diynamic, Moodmusic ++. 

As founder of rising label Eastern Standard, Jepe is also a visionary curator. And as a skilled mix engineer at Berlin’s renowned Blackhead Studios, he cultivates his perfectionism in both analog and digital rhythmical landscapes.

​After bringing the tech house anthem 'Wendy Legs' to ​Mixmag​ earlier this year, UK duo Eli & Fur have handed over their latest single to the capable hands of OC & Verde.

The soulful 'Around You' track goes one level deeper under OC & Verde's direction, bellowing over a series of stabbing synths and echoing vocals from The Black 80s before diving into a thundering break down. The remix is out on November 17 on NYX Music.

Maceo Plex is back on his own Ellum Audio with huge statement single ‘Nu World’.

Maceo Plex has fomented his own singular sound in the last few years. His unique brand of techno has always been melodic, adventurous, and epic - the sort of sounds that can unite the vast crowds he plays to all over the world. He has nurtured artists with similar mindsets on his label but now takes the reins himself and is in typically fine form.

The excellent ‘Nu World’ is a rousing single that will sweep anyone off their feet. The strident drums, the big vocal cries and the emotional synths all add up to a mesmerising, hands in the air anthem that will appeal to electronic music lovers across the board. Add in the rugged bass and smart synth effects and the results are truly irresistible.

This is another landmark track from the ever impressive Maceo Plex with all proceeds from this release going to ACLU to fight voter suppression.

LISTEN UP!
OsloClubCast was initiated by Vinny Villbass in 2012 to promote the emerging club scene of the norwegian capitol. Every week, the clubs of Oslo sent resident dj´s to record their sets at the tiny venue Turkish Delight (RIP). The response, both live and online was massive!

Since then, OsloClubCast has been hosting recordings at festival stages and different Oslo venues, focusing on both legendary and fresh talents, spreading the essence of the norwegian sound. 

In 2020, OCC set focus on live concert videos presenting norwegian producers. Check out the OsloClubCast youtube channel for many many videos of diverse figures from the norwegian electronic music circuit!
