Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

“This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.”

Pianeti Sintetici already has three stand out releases on the legendary Hypnus records and has played a string of mind bending shows, including this mix, which is a live set from the 2023 edition of Positive Education. Tune in for high fidelity alien psychadelia teased over hypnotizing interstellar grooves 👽👾🛸

Tammo Hesselink is a Dutch DJ, producer & resident at Amsterdam’s Garage Noord and has  releases on Delsin, Blank Mind, Nous'Klaer Audio and Midgar.

Tammo Hesselink likes to play around with many different rhythms. In terms of both what he makes and what he spins, he is drawn to stripped-back building blocks that allow him to get creative and find new sounds in what he combines. Whether that's the bass-driven swagger of UK sounds or the more psychedelic and loopy end of techno, what he does is mix it all into something unpredictable yet compelling.

Nadia Marcus is a poet, vocalist, DJ and designer. She spins under the NM DJ moniker, and holds a residency at Berlin’s Refuge Worldwide radio station. Her musical range is wide, spanning spaced-out deep house cuts to liquid drum & bass – whatever the genre or style, the presence of groove and spirit is paramount, and has bumped out of systems across Berlin such as OHM, Tresor, Arkaoda and Sameheads. Marcus is co-editor of TABLOID Press, an imprint founded in Berlin in 2014. The publishing house maintains a focus on the text as a social space – for instance, in 2022 TABLOID released Breathing Room, a longform interview with Lakuti and Tama Sumo, focusing on pre- and post-pandemic dancefloor culture. Marcus’ poetry, art criticism and lyric journalism, often circling around the history and poetics of dance music, have also appeared in Arts of the Working Class, The Ransom Note and Edit. She has has also worked as a designer for numerous record labels including Uzuri, 3XL, wood//work and West Mineral Ltd..

Für Emmi ist die Musiklandschaft nicht nur ein sicherer Ort, um ihre Gefühle auszudrücken, sondern auch ein sozialer Raum, der Party, Subkultur und Künstler miteinander verbindet.

Seit sie 2019 begann, Musik zu produzieren und sich mit Synthesizern zu beschäftigen, hat dies ihr Leben mit Freude und neuen Perspektiven bereichert.

From a young age, she began to break free from conservative structures through art and music. Her goal was to embrace rebellious creativity and create spaces for intercultural exchange.

For Emmi, the music scene is not only a safe space to express her emotions but also a social environment that connects parties, subcultures, and artists.

Since she started producing music and exploring the world of synthesizers in 2019, it has brought her joy and opened up new perspectives in her life.

South London-based DJ benk0 (@benkos) delivers a captivating hour-and-a-half warm-up set, recorded live at Venue MOT on New Year’s Eve.

This set, the first of the night before Oma Totem took the stage, is a slow-burning ride through deep, percussive, dubby, and atmospheric textures. As the mix unfolds, it steadily builds in tempo and energy, reflecting the room’s transformation from empty to buzzing with life.

Revisiting this set always brings back the excitement of that night, as the crowd grew and the energy built with each track, which is why I love to play and experience good warm-up sets.

Drifting into deep and metric realms, Berlin-based Sean H takes over the Further Inward series, flowing through unseen currents and unfolding enigmatic patterns. Guiding us through a weightless dimension, her soundscapes shimmer between realities. A passage not taken, yet always present.

I’m very pleased to welcome Sean to Further Inward. I was blown away by her atmospheric and progressive selections on the Area127 and the Monochrome series, in which she morphs effortlessly between odd rhythmic patterns. I’m excited to have her guide us through this polychromic journey.

Over two decades of unfaltering devotion to production and DJing, dishing out some of the finest slices of opulently textured techno along the way, Tokyo-based maestro DJ Sodeyama has been honing a sound signature both intricately hypnotic and boundary-pushing. Blending delicate melodic strains of electronics ranging from deep, ambient music to verbed-out, atmospheric techno, often laced with hints of jazz and soulful discoid expressions, his productions and mixes combine the satiny elegance of loungey daydream with that of more rugged, deep-diving dubs a la Basic Channel. From light to shade, and vice-versa, DJ Sodeyama builds pieces of music where the ever-changing lighting and shifting angles swath you in an oddly comforting headspace. we’re excited to share mix no.23, a beautiful mental trip with Seta Loto. 

A soft & spherical, yet intricately percussive setting of the scene. You can perfectly place yourself in the center of a spacious dancefloor as vibration fill the air and the crowd filters in.

Diaphonous atmospherics create a sense of drifting through echoing halls, driven by a bass line that pulls you in and forward. 

Speedy & organic, pulsating; sprinkled over with delicate melodies that shimmer like spots of bright sunlight on moving water.  

@seta_loto is an Italian electronic producer and DJ based in Berlin. He’s released his minimal & experimental bass tracks on French labels @comicsansrec & @delajelespere , and most recently contributed to a VA of @generalmerchant . 

His DJ sets are an avenue for storytelling; he’s been performing around Europe & contributing to radio shows @rinse_france , @radioflouka , @flash-recordings , and @frittofm . 

You can catch his next gig at GIRI on April 19, in the daytime, then come see us at Crack Bellmer for the night ;)

While her recent podcasts have delved deeper into experimental halftimers, this club set explores a different side: luminous minimal and deep techno, driven by polyrhythmic patterns and spellbinding leads that pull you into the groove. 

This set has been recorded on January 17th during peak time in the Black Room of Renate, Berlin, following Altjira’s set, pushing the energy forward before their b2b closing set.

Mike Deem is a DJ, producer and label boss of Aarden Records.
By DJs such as James Ruskin, Surgeon, Luke Slater, Female and Regis, to name but a few, Mike Deem discovered that there is much more to Techno than meets the eye.
Inspired by this UK and Industrial approach to electronic music, he bought some turntables, a mixer and a few monitors. 
Through all the experiments with hardware and setup possibilities, Mike Deem is now ready to explore the world and to amaze with his deep, atmospheric, dark ambient and sometimes melancholic acid melody and bass lines which result in a somewhat hypnotic Techno. With his current hybrid setup, which includes Traktor, a mixer, some hardware elements and live intermezzo's with his Tr-8, the boundary between art and pure entertainment becomes blurred. His mixing sessions give the listener some kind of psychedelic sense of ecstasy and satisfaction.
In other words, you can say that Mike Deem takes you on an intriguing mystical journey and immerses you, through various routes and dark places in a in a comfy setting, to safely take you along, with an off-beat motion to your destination.

@mi-der - DJ and producer from Poland. He grew up in Spain but at the moment he lives in Switzerland. His best friend from his childhood introduced him to the mixing, which he found very fascinating, and he had his first performances along with the 'Underground' collective with which they started to organise squat parties around capital of Spain. Mesmerised with vinyls, raised on Spanish electronic music culture, with Oscar Mulero being his guru, he kept searching for his own style, diving into the dark side of electronic music. In Spain he had gigs in clubs like 'Sala Marvelous', 'Jala Jala' and legendary 'Specka'. Few years after getting back to Poland, in 2018 he co-founded 'Projekt Hirschberg'.

During that time he released his first track on 'Impudice Records' and his first EP: 'Reflxion' on 'Industrial Techno United'. In 2019 his set won the competition organised by 'Transformator' club. In his sets he always tries to pass on as much energy as possible and to put the emphasis on the dark tones and sophisticated sounds with which he wants to portrait his vision of the music at the given moment.
