Otake Records is back. This time with Canadian artist @Frivolous ‚Release Paralysis‘ marks a long period of time since the last full ‚Frivolous‘ release - a creative drought, a veritable release paralysis.

Marred by illness, pandemic and disaster, this record is unapologetic in Daniel Gardner‘s portrayal of life looking upwards through the murky waters of rock-bottom.

Thick, dark and jagged striations of dreams stomped down into piles of discarded artifacts, sometimes accented by the fleeting chorus of human yearning, sometime forgot about altogether in moments of ignorant bliss.

In ‚Release Paralysis‘, the specific circumstances are not to be revealed, inasmuch the importance of recognizing that events occured and shaped an emotional state which is valid and inarguably human.

Creativity isn‘t always beautiful, although honesty usually is.

Perhaps now the paralysis can be released.

The upcoming Summer Split 2 EP from Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant label assembles five tracks that help crystallize her vision of primitive sound: an emerging movement that reclaims the visceral roots of club music. Tempos are kept low, and lurching rhythms, dub-heavy basslines, and unsettled, sleek synths combine to hypnotic effect. Slowed-down Italo, industrial, Belgian new beat, and electro pop all converge. “Unknown”, a timeless track from In2Deep & DOTT is available for free download via Fiction lab! 

Just a few months ago, In2Deep showcased his versatility with “Jams”, a dubby vinyl EP on Lumières La Nuit. DOTT, a new artist on my radar with releases on the likes of Little Helpers also crushed his latest production "Cosmic Dancer” released on Tools and Stuff Records. The two artists merged to deliver this beautiful piece, a great addition to your arsenal of tracks. 

Very rarely do you find a track that lets you move freely, both mentally and physically. The variety of textures it brings to the dance floor combines so well with the tight percusion flow. A perfect track for those late night, early morning sets. Beautifully created with the intent to break musical boundaries.

With a deep house core architecture, the track starts off with a dreamy state of mind. In2Deep & DOTT quickly lay out a groovy percussion that provides an energy boost to the sound. A well executed bass line moves the dance floor keeping the dance aficionados alive and apprehensive. You can’t escape this track, whether you’re fan of the melancholic or you lean  more towards a rhythmically curated sound, it will keep you plugged in and rooted to the dance floor.

The chilean producer and musician Guillermo Muñoz Velasquez was born in 1990 in Valdivia, Chile, where he taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 13. Later he began to play the piano and studied jazz. Always looking for new sounds, he came to electronic music, where he began his career as a producer and DJ. Existencia Pasajera’s minimal EP "Sequential" on Freude am Tanzen combines experimental details and mesmerizing grooves with samples of organic instruments.
