Positioned in the gravity well between the main planetary body and one of its outlying moons, the long-range research vessel unfurled its kinetic battery and prepared for the moment for which they had waited for years, the alignment was close. As the heavenly bodies reached the critical moment, the gravity harness kicked into life, the power of a planet’s motion captured and funneled into the portal. Reality yawed away into void as they looked on with the fearful curiosity known only to the truest of explorers. Fighting off those demons, sweaty, catching his breathe. He glimpses to his side and more of the shadows appear. A low voice emerges, a crackle at first. A hum of a munk with multiple octave growls. 
Eyes now rolling back into his skull the presence of danger fades away, and gently numbing comes into play. Still humming,
