SGL_666_3_summoning_my_ethereal_demon_

Alongside the delicious aggressiveness that made Audio so renowned, his ‘Beastmode’ LP cracks him open like you’ve never heard him before. Fiercely powerful, yet intricately different, each cut from his debut album on the Ram Records imprint packs a very different punch whilst hitting with the same fierceness and wealth of talent.

‘Beastmode’ reflects all his output to date. Whether it’s the old-school flavor of virus, or the steppy-unapologetic riddims he’s served up for Ram, this record won’t leave you questioning who rules supreme over the genre’s murkier waters.

Whether it’s the half-time, two stepping ‘Move it Along’ or the pulsing, snarling undertones of ‘Thud’, you’re blessed with a barrage full of fresh sonic assaults. ‘Thunder Ridge’ serves as the perfect opener, a brand new record with synth-laddered foreboding intro which pushes you below the surf. Tinkling hi-hats and a distorted LFO adds shockwaves throughout the mix, submerging you even deeper. Urgent, pulsing and nastily crafted, this is Audio at his most fearsome.

On the other hand, ‘Rogue’ presents a clanking, runaway riddim that snaps its teeth with every break. Stacked between ominous build ups and jaunty samples, the second drop flairs out as angrily as the first, demonstrating Audio’s ingenious sound design.

And flipping the switch once again is ‘Sovereign’, a nod to the producer’s roots and a track that gradually builds its presence throughout. Between warbling stabs and peddled kick drum, you’re drawn by the aural nerves. Elevating beat patterns set you up for another descent into madness, through a stringently tight composition.

Featuring artists, such as drum &amp; bass heavyweight Prolix, also take center stage. Their collaboration ‘Creatures’, alongside the revered lyricist Nuklear MC, adds a welcomed surprise. ‘Creatures’ delivers everything you’d expect and more; steroid-pumped subs, the dark overture of Nuklear and apocalyptic atmospherics.

Also featured on its weighty track listing are singles ‘Make it Happen’, ‘Overdose’, ‘Drop it Human’ and ‘Shatterdome’. They were a precursor for what was to come, which signified one of the darkest, most uncompromising productions yet on Ram Records… In all of its twenty five years of history.

Translation returns with the long-awaited Prints of You Remixes EP to continue the sonic exploration of its namesake, which marked Nuage’s transition to house and bass music. Up first, veteran London-based outfit Blu Mar Ten deftly re-imagine the album’s opening track Colors at a crisp 170 BPM, applying lush atmospherics, energetic breakbeats, and rolling basslines for an uplifting dancefloor vibe. Next, Nuage delves into experimental/post-modern drum & bass territory on his remix of Waterfalls, crafting an immersive, naturesque soundscape with a subdued percussive shuffle, twinkling keys, and bouncing 808 bass. Ownglow’s journey began back in the hot deserts of Flagstaff, Arizona where the breathtaking San Francisco Peaks first inspired his debut EP ‘A Walk To Remember’. By infusing any sound around him Ownglow’s style breathes a rare and raw quality into drum & bass from snares of forest sticks, white noise of high school hallways, crashing waves of San Diego beaches and samples of a Six Flags rollercoaster. 
 
The EP follows Ownglow on his path so far. A gorgeous fluttering vocal in ‘Angels Sing’ reflects the beautiful views of the Pacific Surfliner journey that he took while writing the track. All the way to ‘The Night Is Still Young’ pieced together - with another exciting young talent Blake - after a night out at one of east London’s drum & bass residencies.
 
Ownglow’s ambition left him to pick up and leave home at 15. While sofa-surfing around LA he realized his love for electronic music and the dream of working with Hospital Records. Since then he’s immersed himself in the world of drum & bass making a huge move to the UK. 
 
In the last two years his feet have barely touched the ground playing sets on USA soil, sold-out UK venues and summer festival stages. Now he’s found a new home in Forest Hill just a walk from the Hospital Records studio where he put the finishing touches on all four tracks and the self-designed record sleeve of his exciting and pivotal debut release.

With this release I'm getting back to hard edged Drum & Bass, basically my roots. I felt like I really need make as much heavy tunes as it is possible again. Don't expect any casual neurofunk on this release. This is just pure heavy shit with no fancy sparkles on the top. The first track is influenced by Orwells movie 1984, second one is influenced by another great movie I really like, Pacific Rim. I really enjoyed creating those two track so I hope you will.
