Night has fallen, the threat of extinction riding on the edge of its transition. A single being stands in their way - the strongest of his kind, the last of a genetic line extending into a derelict past with an imperative to preserve the future. An arsenal of sonic weaponry residing within the lines of his palms, drawn forth through the ancient forms manifested by long-dead masters. His swift movement amongst the shuffling army is efficient - acute strikes snap limbs, raw concentrated power crushes bone, low-frequency techniques leaving little behind from the weight of brutal molecular disruption. With the rising of the sun, only he remains – the broken dead lying scattered and without motion – the focused power of his fighting form has prevailed… the signal is preserved.
 
Following up on the impact of the sampler EP, L 33 unleashes his most devastating technique upon the EATBRAIN label with his KARATE LP. An artist residing at the heart of the Eatbrain collective with an entirely unique and recognizable sound – his album delivers a polished and hard-hitting array of tracks designed with pure dancefloor palpitation in mind. With pounding signature sound tracks that L 33 fans will hungrily devour such as KARATE, STRANGE THINGS and ELECTRIX alongside fresh sonic experiments with hard-hitting neuro in the form of DROP IT DOWN LOW and GRIME ALL THE TIME, the Karate LP delivers a heavyweight manifesto for both L 33 and the evermore legendary Eatbrain.

The title cut busts and blasts its way into existence, strange samples leading the way. Insistent, futuristic beats slide over the top, setting you up for something big. The track moves through a range of levels, as the producers open up more and more, accessing new sounds and emotions. This is serious, cutting edge music, and a fantastic start to the EP. 

The Germ follows suit, with deep bass already obvious in the intro, before all hell breaks loose at the drop. Twisted, twisting samples and effects pour themselves in and out of the mix, as a haunting melody line turns and shifts, rising and falling. Shining and shimmering, don’t lose the real meaning of this one - it’s a killer.
Infiltrating is the first track on Side B. This one builds up, levelling out with some explosive beats and equally enticing low end. 

Let the infection take over your being, as Dean Rodell and Current Value take
￼￼things to the next level. And closing things out is the Machine Code remix of Artificial Organism by Homeboy. Here, the track opens with electronic flashes, a ticking beat and a steady sense of anticipation. This is paid off by a fantastic drop, after which the true genius of the remix is slowly uncovered, via a spine chilling breakdown and rebuild.

Not for the faint-hearted, Projection is serious. A must-have.

Forbidden Society Recordings presents ''Prophets Of The Doom Remixes Part 1'' this remix pack contains some of the Forbidden Society cuts reworked by some masters within the genre. The release opens with a hypnotizing ''The Clamps'' remix of the label anthem ''Street Justice''. The staggering drums work great with the bassline and intrusive synth blips. The emotive ambiance that is introduced throughout makes for a great alternation. Second up is signature snare-man ''Donny'' who delivers a banging reword of Forbidden Society's BWM. Hardcore Drum & Bass music at it's finest,  it's all about the drums in this one. South African duo ''Counterstrike'' come up with a remix for ''Sellout''. This is a peak time rework, placing the emphasis on top notch drum-breaks and some funked out elements that  should strike a chord with lovers of the label. Hallucinator are reworking the ever so dark ''NYC Punk''. This fast paced theme is pumped up a notch with great care for the original. Label regular ''Katharsys'' does an adventurous reword of 'Skullcrawler' which stands out in originality. The pack is finished by S9 who creates havoc with his tremendous ''Outlaw'' remix. Forbidden Society Recordings at it's best with an undeniable all-star line up.Watch out for the part.2!

French drum & bass producer The Clamps has become more and more of an identifiable force, with his forthcoming EP on veteran Prolix’s Trendkill Records quickening his pace to the top echelons. The Clamps production has often been an enviable trait, something which the artist has been refining over the past few years; this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the heaviest hitters within drum & bass, which is why he came under the radar of Prolix. And The Clamps fits well within Prolix’s growing arsenal of producers, something which the head honcho has also spent years refining. When it comes to the genre’s darker sounds, Trendkill is a go-to imprint, dominating both charts and DJ sets during its expansion. With a host of main-stay labels already ticked off by Prolix himself, it made sense for him to build a musical hub which highlighted the sounds influencing his own output.

Since the late 90s, The Clamps has spent his time pouring over the intricacies of everything from hard techno to drum & bass. After initially making a name for himself on homegrown label Kosen Production, he’s become more and more of a pivotal figure throughout the wider music circuit. Now having released on imprints such as Invisible, Titan, Eatbrain and Impact Music, his forthcoming ‘I Feel’ EP is a return to form, following the explosion of his ‘The Odyssey’ LP in 2018.

First track ‘No Reality’ creates an intro which is instantly encapsulating with its steppy instrumentals and patches of waif-like samples. Once it drops, through its pounding drum stabs, you’re taken directly into the belly of the best. Title-track ‘I Feel’ is just as chaotic, tearing through with robotic vocal interludes. ‘Mind Exploration’ runs through next, with an old-school reminiscing as you’re yet again released against its manic mechanics. ‘Interaction’ is the final track, foreboding as it begins to wheel you towards its first climatic breakdown. Each punching horn takes you in deeper before its sci-fi atmospherics leave you to its driving ferociousness.

Trendkill Records are back, with help from The Clamps - proving that the next year is titled to be one of their biggest yet.
