About this journey:
I recorded the mix during my  winter escape journey in the Dominican Republic. There are great views of the Atlantic Ocean from my friends house on a hill with  a lush green tropical garden.
Beautiful birds, lizards and lots of baby geckos are around to spot.
And many kitesurfers on windy beaches on turquoise waters.
When listening to the mix you might  see the kites racing and flying over the waves  or travel through other vast landscapes or cosmic spaces.
I kept the mix evolving in positive moods and mostly instrumental style. 
Crispy rhythms, warm basses and some catchy melodies are provided.     
Dancing is welcome. Just empty your mind and enjoy the journey.

AmuAmu - Once In a Blue Moon

Otorongo is the Quechua word for Jaguar, Curinahuel is the same in Mapudungu.

Otorongo is a music selector originally from Chile, currently based in Meanjin (Brisbane). His sets are meticulously curated to take audiences on a journey. Some times it might be a pleasant walk through mountain rainforest, tropical floodplains, or wherever your imagination feels the most comfortable. Other times a deep dive into the realm of the spirits, where light and darkness get confounded. 

Otorongo's sets are percussive, with exotic instruments and vocals, usually filled with nature samples, and always driven by ancient rhythms, carefully blended to ensure you feel free to dance. 

Expect from ethnic downtempo and folktronica to eclectic Afrofuturism, passing through deep tech.

He is co-founder and curator of ISU TAKI (@isu-taki), a collective that organises parties to promote emerging beats from Abya Yala (aka Latin America) and beyond.
