Our forthcoming EP 'Reset' is out Now!

Plucking from a wealth of genres and pop culture references, HYMNS make epic and ethereal rock songs that exist to enlighten and energise all who bear witness. With thick Baritone vocals and rousing choral hooks, their music is appropriately bittersweet. 

Whereas the infectious guitars and driving bass lines of their debut London EP documented the inherent solitude of inner city living, the band have since been looking outwards, obliged to think bigger about the sinister direction of today’s global politics. Woven from stories of personal experience, the band’s unapologetic honesty supports the weight of their music’s sturdy foundations.  

Their new 4 track EP release, Reset sees the band delve deeper into their signature atmospheric sound, broadening the musical palette with elements reminiscent of Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western soundtracks and Black Sabbath's heavy guitar riffage. Mainstay favourites of the band, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, and Depeche Mode also creep into their musical melting pot.

Cross Wires are an East London based four piece consisting of Jonathan Chapman (vocals) Peter Muller (guitar/vocals) Matt Lazard (bass) and Ian Clarke (drums)

The debut full length album from the band ‘A Life Extinct’ was released on Culture War Records ‪on Friday 1st November‬ on Vinyl as well as digitally. 

It was recorded at Kluster Rooms in Limehouse, East London and produced by Rory Attwell (The Vaccines, Telegram, Traams, Palma Violets, The Goa Express)

‘A Life Extinct’ is not a concept album in the traditional sense but the theme of extinction looms large across the 11 tracks. Tracks from the album have received airplay from John Kennedy on Radio X,  Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Jess Iszatt on BBC Introducing and American Punk Music and Black Flag legend Henry Rollins on KCRW over in the US.

The second LP ‘Yesterday In Mourning’ was released on 5th May 2022. Again produced by Rory Attwell. It received great reviews and Radio plays from Louder Than War, Artrocker, Radio X and Amazing Radio.

Cross Wires have built up a great live reputation playing across some of the best venues and festivals - Tramlines (The Leadmill Stage) Shiiine On, Camden Rocks, The Great Escape (Alternative Escape) and The Old Blue Last, The Shacklewell Arms, Sebright Arms, The Victoria, The Windmill, and Ramsgate Music.
