The New Oxford Organ Method was published in 2020, during the global COVID-19 pandemic. These recordings of the twenty pieces found in the book are unedited performances (recorded using amateur recording equipment) by Anne Marsden Thomas and Frederick Stocken, authors of The New Oxford Organ Method. They are intended to provide guidance and inspiration to those using The New Oxford Organ Method either as a teacher or a student.

The syncopated Toccatina is influenced by pop music as well as the music of South America, while the use of repeated notes is derived from Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. This recording was made by the composer himself in his home organ studio.
