In a short span of time since his emergence on the scene, SickFlip has grown as an artist. The biggest push came last year when he was featured on the legendary FACT Mag’s‘ Against The Clock’ – a video series in which artists are given 10 minutes to create a track from scratch, with FACT filming every step along the way in real time. Past high-profile guests on the series include Shlohmo, Four Tet, Yaeji, Tom Misch, Chromeo, KiNK and many more.

Having experimented with a variety of sounds in his music production over the years, his latest collaborative single 'Roshni' with Ritviz and Seedhe Maut finds itself in a unique electronica meets rap meets Hindi crossover space. The track peaked on #10 on Youtube India 'Trending' charts on the release weekend.

Chunky is a multidisciplinary artist from Manchester, United Kingdom vi Zimbabwe. His catalogue of work spans over a decade with deep musical roots that start in the genesis of Grime in the north and expand into London's bass music hubs with Chunky being a mainstay at both Rinse FM and Swamp 81, and of course his starring roles within Riot Jazz and Manchesters MC super-collective LEVELZ. His interest in art and creation doesn’t stop at writing and composing but also extends to acting, modelling and creative direction with collaborations with 20 Stories High, SPORTS BANGER, and Benji Reid respectively. Chunky is an artist with a solid integrity and desire to push the envelope, creating honest music and art that sits below the surface yet vibrates with enough force to shake the ground above.

Let's Pretend

'My Hands Are Up' is a poem about citizen frustration against incessant brutality wrecked on American citizens by police departments throughout the country. It is also about  institutionalized racism in the practice of law enforcement in the USA. 

Using the last words of Micheal Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, this track speaks to the humanity that is often missing when citizens come into contact with law enforcement agents. Brown was unarmed when he was gunned down in barrage of bullets by a police officer. His story is a microcosm of centuries of arbitrary killings of citizens by people acting in the name of the law.

Andrea Benini (born March 14, 1977), also known as Mop Mop is a musician, music producer and composer from , Cesena, Italy. He has worked in jazz, funk and club music.

Benini began playing guitar at age 10 and he started playing drums at age 14. At the end of 1999, Benini moved to Bologna and he attended the “Discipline dell Arti, della Musica e dell Spettacolo” (DAMS), pursuing the study of African-American music and Contemporary music.

From 2000 to 2003 Benini worked as journalist for the Italian magazine “Percussioni” interviewing musicians like Joey Baron, John Riley, Terry Clarke just to name a few.

As of 2005, his current project is Mop Mop, a funk/afro/jazz mix including musicians Alex Trebo on piano, Pasquale Mirra on vibraphone, Guglielmo Pagnozzi on sax, Bruno Briscik on bass and Danilo Mineo on percussions. Mop Mop debut album “The 11th Pill” was released by Tam Tam Studio in 2005 and later re-released by P-Vine Records for the Japanese market. The first single ”Perfect Day Feat. Jackson Sloan” was released by Dejavu Records in 2006 with a remix of Schema Records artist Gerardo Frisina.

In 2007 “Perfect Day” was selected by Adrian Gibson for “Messin Around 5”, the London Jazz Cafe compilation featuring artists like Nostalgia 77, Mark Murphy, Sleepwalker, Soul Jazz Orchestra just to name a few.

In 2008 Benini has produced Mop Mop’s second album entitled “Kiss oF Kali”, released by the German label Infracom Records in 2009. The album features Down Beat Critics Poll winner Gianluca Petrella on trombone and Alan Farrington on vocals. Infracom Records released Mop Mop’s third album “Ritual Of The Savage” in 2010. The album includes the UK’s singer Baby Sol ( backing vocaling for the likes of Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Nate James ).

In 2012 Mop Mop achieve the international film business as part of Woody Allen‘s “To Rome With Love” soundtrack with the song ” Three Times Bossa “, composed by Andrea Benini/Alex Trebo and produced by Tam Tam Studio.

Mop Mop music is released by labels like Sony/BMG, Universal, Wagram, Infracom, Freestyle, P-Vine, Rambling and supported by DJs like Gilles Peterson, Toshio Matsuura, Michael Ruetten, Pete Isaac, Simon Harrison just to name a few.
During the last years he has performed in Italy, Germany, France, Poland, Hungary, Spain, Turky, United Kingdom, United States, Russian Federation, appearing in clubs, jazz clubs, theatres, festivals, national radio and television.

Benini has produced three albums and several singles for Mop Mop project and remixed artists like [re:jazz], Bajka, Jazzinvaders, Bahama Soul Club, Valique, Rime.

Benini is actually living and producing his new works in Berlin. His fourth studio album which includes funk legend Fred Wesley on trombone and British poet Anthony Joseph on vocals, is to be released in 2012.

The album is out on 09/14 - by it at www.shittyispretty.de - When you are in with Uebertribe, there is no misleading: We make no fuss and there is no need to discuss. With us, it is all about funk, says Legbo, guitarist extraordinaire and head of the freaky funk collective from Hamburg. Brand New U is their debut album and yes, it is very much about finding your direction, and being – or sometimers not being - in peace with yourself and the world around you.

The concept of Uebertribe has been in mind for about 10 years now. At that time I was playing with Diazpora and it was already clear, that we would never be able to finish all ideas that we had - life is short and they were just too many, Legbo recalls. Apparently I needed another funk band, and while touring with a hip hop band,I found a drummer - Martin Kahl - who just felt right.

Uebertribe can be seen as an offspring of Hamburg funk scene - a lively witches brew of underground parties, bands and musicians. Their early pre-incarnation was visible during the legendary We Call It Funk session series in 2011, where they played many unfairly unknown funk treasures including some cover versions of the Nineties German funk band Zappelbude (which consisted of German jazz legends, pianist Robert Di Gioia and drummer Wolfgang Haffner). Same year later - in November 2011 - Uebertribe was born.

The first single, though, in true funk style, was an instrumental. Game Over was released on the Hamburg specialist 7inch label Our Label Records, with a released party hosted in the newly re-opened Mojo Club.

Uebertribe continued playing live but focussed on recording the songs for the debut album, produced by Dennis Rux in his fully analogue Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Studios. The result is a bona fide funk album, rough and raw. A newly recorded version of Game Over sets the pace, followed by the staccato rhythms of the title track and the slow and badass grooving Shake. After the psychedelic, Asian style and heavy horn excursion of Ying Yang Kutsk Uebertribe show they have some pop appeal with the Prince tribute and first single Purple Pearl.

Don't Treble Me would work well on a late Sixties hippie festival, while the lazy and catchy I Won't Go To Bed lives up to its title. In A Matter Of Seconds takes on some pace and leads towards the furious closing number which is The Thief,sounding like a theme tune of a lost Sixties movie. We have our roots in raw funk. But we also love Afrobeat, P-Funk and Jazz, Legbo explains. To be honest, we try to put some Voodoo on all of it, if you know what I mean.

While Uebertribe now established themselves as a consistent live act and went through some personal changes, drummer Martin Kahl, bassist Daniel Vorpahl and guitarist Legbo started writing their own new songs and added Jamaican born singer Ray Darwin, who has been living and recording in Germany for some years as their fresh regular vocalist not yet featured on Brand New U, but in all future releases and live shows.

"The Jam"  by Spanish Funk outfit Mothergroove is mid-tempo groove machine, dancable and with a jazzy tang. 
Initiated by Italian singer, songwriter and producer Gianni Sciannamé in Barcelona, Mothergroove is losely based around him and local musicians Abel Boquera (keyboard), Roger Serrahima (drums) and Brasillian bass player Daniel Doctors. For "The Jam" flute player Caspar St Charles joined the family. Mothergroove's sound is heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown, Deodato, Banda Black Rio and Roy Ayers.
"The Jam" is the b-side of the 9th 7" vinyl single on Our Label Records, limited to only 500 copies worldwide.
