Youn1que, whose real name is Christopher Jean Ooms, is a new psychedelic trance producer from British Columbia, West Coast Canada, residing in Victoria on Vancouver Island.

I have been DJing since late 2011, and started producing my own Psy-Trance in December 2022.

Since playing my first gig at the Sunset Room(Victoria,BC) in Feb 2012 for DJ's In A Box, I have played at venues such as Hush Nightclub(Vic), The Cambie Pub(Vic), the Sunset Room a few more times, have gotten a residency at SONiCA Afterhours(Vic) from 2012-2013, played top 40/electro music at the club Svelte Lounge(Vic) from Nov2013-March2013, DJ'd frequent weekend nights at Temple Afterhours, and have spun monthly friday nights at The Gallery Nightclub for Soulfix's "Friday, I Love You!" series. Aside from having played house/deep house music at various clubs and afterhours in Victoria, I have played countless events and raves around Vancouver Island and the Vancouver mainland area over my many years of DJing, and when I play events and raves outside of the clubs it is usually Psy-Trance being played. I got into electronic music first from the psychedelic music of Shpongle and then discovered Infected Mushroom & Astrix which got me into Psychedelic Trance because I loved their creativity with sounds and technical production with high energy bass and hypnotic melodies.
Over time I have returned more to my roots in Psy-Trance and have given it more of a focus, bringing something new to the north american west coast because of there being little psy-trance in the area, and recently in December 2022 I embarked on the journey of music production and started producing my own Psy-Trance music, and created a record label "Youn1que Records" on Beatport to release my music on.
