Clarence Rise is a French techno producer and DJ, whose sometimes dark but always introspective music draws on his deep connection with nature and the twists and turns of the psyche. His compositions combine complex rhythmics with organic sound design, diving listeners in hypnotic, immersive soundscapes.

The haze of Paral·lel festival has barely lifted, but we’re rewinding to another moment worth lingering on, February in Granada, at the Moonback club. There, under the warm glow of the Extramostra banner, Mostra linked up with the Klub Collective for a night that balanced local soul with an international touch. The lineup reads like a heads-only dream: Timnah, Antonio Vázquez, Refracted, and a solid core of Klub Collective residents including Fran Acosta, Kaizen, and Utopian. The kind of night that reminded us why the first slot matters more than most people admit. It’s the architectural role: shaping the night’s flow from zero.

Utopian did just that. His set unfolds like a slow exhale, dub-laced ambient that creeps, swells, and gradually transforms into chugging, low-slung techno hypnosis. It’s a patient climb: syncopated, restrained, precise. Not a single cheap move, just deep focus and floor logic, the kind that sets the table without stealing the meal. But make no mistake, this was a statement. A warm-up that didn’t just support the night, but elevated it.

The fourteenth podcast. The first artist on the 2025 gathering lineup. When the idea for this podcast was first developed, showcasing Sardinian DJ's was always something we wanted to accomplish. There is a natural harmony between the environment here and this style of music. It is something that is difficult to articulate. The ambience lends itself to the hypnotic, organic, profound tones. The landscape mirrors the sheer, rugged, illusive elements of deep techno. The lapping sea emulates the constant, unerring yet unpredictable facets. 

One artist who in our minds captures the very essence of all of this; with consistently top quality releases, classy mixes and a genuine, friendly and approachable character, is Save Your Atoll, who we are thrilled to welcome to the Out Of Focus Podcast. 

We are also overjoyed to announce @SaveYourAtollofficial as the first name on our lineup for Out Of Focus Gathering 2025, an event that grants the opportunity to come and witness the harmony between this place and this music.

Today's mix is grounded in pace and energy. Rhythmic elements intertwine to invoke an unyielding urge to move. Hi everyone, welcome back to a new episode of the Altrove Podcast.
We’re slowly approaching the last stretch of summer, a moment when the days carry a mix of lingering heat and subtle nostalgia. 
This mix by Kami captures that in between mood perfectly, groovy, immersive and with just the right energy to guide you through these late summer days.

"You're listening to a live recording of a set I played for Lunaria at the Reitschule Innenhof in Bern during the summer of 2025. I played second in the afternoon slot. After my set, there was a music break to make space for some other cultural happenings.
My aim was to create an inviting, not too demanding, groovy and danceable vibe. I started with a fairly long intro to set the mood and gradually build up the grooves.
Hope you enjoy the ride, and big thanks to Manuel for the opportunity to contribute to the Altrove Mix Series."


"I go by the name Kami (he/him). I’ve been collecting music and DJing for over a decade. My musical openness and inspiration have been shaped mainly by festivals and partys I’ve attended over the years as a guest.
I play by the phrase: “Each music has its time.”
From ambient to groovy afterhour to peak-time Goa-infused techno mixes—in my DJ sets I always try to walk the fine line between reading the mood of the dancefloor and presenting my personal vision of music. I love to dance for hours, but hearing the same vibe for 12 hours straight bores me. That philosophy is also reflected in the way I mix.
In Bern, I'm part of the collectives Rauschen and Mont Somnia. With Rauschen, we organize all kinds of events—club nights, outdoor gatherings, or more intimate private settings."

Audio Cla, a DJ and producer based here in Sardinia, presents a mix to hypnotize and mesmerize from the very first moments until the last fading frequencies. Relentless in it's energy, a true torrent that keeps us locked in and listening, enraptured in Audio Cla's selections. Peaks and troughs take us through diverse shades of spellbinding sound, keeping the mind reeling and the feet firmly *off* the ground. 

We're also very excited to welcome Audio Cla to the 2025 edition of the Out Of Focus gathering and for him to share his vision with us and the mountainous Taccu of Osini in September. On the 27th of September we invite you all to this gathering celebrating a fusion of sound and nature, where both Sardinian and international sonic artists will share their unique perceptions of this place.

Out Of Focus 016 - 03SIDIAN

When OK EG enters Varden it’s 8:30PM on Sunday. It’s been a slow and steady build during the day, much slower than the day before, people have been given time to rest properly from a late night on Saturday. This is the journey. The ebb and flow of the forest. It’s their job to get the crowd going for the last couple of interval sprints. They are well rested and ready.

OK EG’s expansive sound is deep and diverse. Their compositions display a range that shifts between delicate, textural soundscapes, and spiralling, mesmerizing, mind-trip techno.

They first went to Monument festival in 2024, taking a break from a residency at EMS in Stockholm to spend a weekend in the forest. They brought a field recorder with them and spent time on the riverbank recording the sound of stones and water.

And listen to this level of dedication; while preparing for their live set in 2025, they used those recordings to write a closing track called Monument Stone. This is what they said about it. ”In the moment of performing it at the festival, we felt that everything came together. The crowd, the music and the site connected and it happened just as we’d imagined it.”

During their set day turns to dusk. We transition together, ready for the night - the sound, nature, forest and lights. Hand in hand.

The seventeenth. An entry from Out Of Focus co-curator @picnic-it.

A mix both diverse and wandering, we depart with bouncy, organic infused electronica, lighter textures slowly intensifying as the palette develops. The middle of mix finds its stride in some deeper, darker, resonant tracks. Rolling and revolving, the senses blur as the cycle grips our auditory senses. Finally, the listener is pulled back out of the hypnotic haze, stronger sounds of storytelling return to the forefront to reassert the groove, with haunting vocals and strings bidding the listener a final farewell. 

Out Of Focus 017 - Picnic

Perpendicular Festival unravels as one continuous thread, bending and reforming across days and nights until the sense of time itself begins to dissolve. From Friday afternoon to the first pale hints of Monday light, the forest carries a constant flux of sound, shifting from floor-focused intensity to moments of near-weightless suspension. The turning point comes when the moon hovers over the DJ booth on the main stage and the current draws inward: La Cabaña, a wooden cabin hidden among the pines, becomes the gathering place for music at its most unguarded and exploratory. Here, reality softens, and performances take the shape of dreams.

It was in these hours between Friday and Saturday that STBL opened the portal. His set arrived quietly, almost imperceptibly, whispers in the air, static drifting like dust in moonlight. Slowly, harmonies began to shimmer and unfold, shadowed by pads that seemed to stretch toward some unreachable horizon. Beneath it all, a subtle rumble grew, reassuring, like company long imagined finally appearing at your side. Nothing felt rushed; each sound seemed to wait for the moment it was meant to reveal itself.  

The power of the set lies in its restraint, in the way it suspended time and quietly rewrote it in the minds of those present. A moment like this resists fading; it lingers, carried forward as a story that will be told again and again.

The eighteenth. This weeks entry coming from the talented @nemsb, who's crafted a genre-warping one and half hour journey through their vision of sonic space.

This twisting, morphing mix leads the us gently into an array of diverse soundscapes; each track presenting a unique motif, a new surprise around each corner rounded. Vocals pieces are dispersed elegantly throughout, never overpowering, instead deepening the palette of the mix, outlining the established vision with dashes of strong defining color.

After riding the line somewhere between dub and deep techno, with moments of detroit infused energy throughout the mix, the final tracks deliver some darker textures as we feel like the lights darken and we become fully immersed, lost in the finished canvas.
