Minilogue - My Teenager Gang

Peter Kersten, and his main production and DJing alias, Lawrence, have become very heavily associated with the deep, aquatic house since the turn of the millennium.
But less widely known than his house and ambient work as Lawrence and as a co-founder of legendary German label Dial, is his production work as Sten. Having not been released as Sten since 2008, Kersten makes a powerful comeback with “Earthshine” - a 12-track LP on Sushitech.

Most of the album is dance-floor oriented, with some more laid-back bits. One of the tracks that will surely make many club appearances over the next few months is 'Freewalk', a piece revolving around its trance-influenced stabs.  It features Lawrence’s signature percussive work and punchy kicks, and we are honored to premiere it today.

Take a listen and try to resist the urge to nod your head along or fidget with your feet. Sten is back. Nature is healing.

Welcome back to S.Aers, who did a B2B mix with hometown buddy and legendary digger/DJ Alex Volar (link below) for number 186 - and under his wing here be Kris K - a newcomer to the DJ'ing world and this weird little niche of music we seem to co-inhabit. This is such a wicked session, we got it sent over in the midst of the December surge (Avenue Red was sent 16 perfect mixes in 2 days! Following the success of their EPs released last year on Scissor and Thread, Frank & Tony return with another outing of deeper than deep house with a three track EP including an expansive collaborative exploration with Comatonse recording artist Will Long. 

The title track, Understanding takes a nod to 90s Chicago deep house with a slow rolling groove set against plush pads and euphoric stabs sure to send dancefloors swirling in the earliest of nights and mornings alike. 

We Begin, a dreamy trip of emotive soundscapes, kicks things up a notch with jazzy undertones but a drive meant for peak times as it unfolds in moods and grooves for ages. 

The EP then culminates with a vast rework of the same track in collaboration with Comatonse artist and DJ Sprinkles collaborator, Will Long, pushing the EP to psychedelic lengths as the essence of what we call a house groove reaches new idiosyncratic heights.  Essential.

Anatolian Weapons returns with an EP of brand new remixes following June 2019’s debut To The Mother of Gods with Seirios Savviadis.

Featuring new takes on key album track “Ofiodaimon” by Tolouse Low Trax, Mr TC and Mekine U Teksi - as well as an instrumental dub take by Anatolian Weapons - the remix collection further opens the third eye that the album’s rapturous Levantine grooves first channeled.

The EP unfolds a with a collaboration between Germany’s seasoned Tolouse Low Trax and Anatolian Weapons, a cyclic, languorous mid-tempo stomp that hones in on microscopic elements of the original, swirling and constant in its drive, falling deep into the Kraut-fantasies that the album version flirts with and beckoned by the vocals of Savvaidis like calls from beyond.
