The boys from the OCR give you a disastrous fable of overwheening pride, scratching on fiddle from Slim Williams. I always loved how folk music travels geographically from community to community, like Oxford/Wexford/Knoxville Girl, I stole a medieval English fable and imagined how it would evolve as it travelled across the globe. This is another track from the OCR's first album, and truly is the genre 'Chicken Music' because it is, actually, about chickens. Thank you for listening

The OCR is a band from Leicester, England. All songs are 'originals' by guitarist/ singer 2badJim Lambert, heavily influenced by weird old American folk music, including early country and old timey songs, field hollers, prison songs and hill country blues.  There's no genre for this. If there were, it would be called 'chicken music'.
Packing cases, tee fer, steel pipe are all played (sometimes simultaneously) by Slim Williams; recorder, artwork  and occasionally bass courtesy of 'Filthy' Rich Paling.
All recordings are cut in Yellowbean Studios, Leicester, overseen by Jez Burns.

There aren't many bands in Leicester playing Mississippi Fife and Drum music.
