Californian native Taylor Freels has been shaping dancefloors for some time and in a past life under the name Urulu has had quite an impact our community. Having shelved the project momentarily a new alias has sprouted in the form of Liquid Earth. With countless bangers already under his belt Taylor is a core member of many taste making collectives, Butter Side Up, Kalahari Oyster Cult all benefit from his refined dancefloor focused style. Not staying in one place for too long but more than happy to revisit certain time periods in house music but with a revised vigour and wide eyed appreciation for the love that has gone into the original source material. This is a studio mix, started with an initial live take and then combed over meticulously with automated filters, eq, and fx. This is the same setup I use to play out, minus the automation. There is rarely a point when only one track is playing. I always try to find mixes that feel like a new track emerges from the combination. I imagine the optimal listening environment to be eyes-closed with headphones on, but I also hope you will feel an irresistible urge to move at some points ;)

The 41st episode of the vurt Podcast features an hour-long set from DJ YAZI, one of the leading DJs in the Japanese techno scene. He has been active since the mid-1990s, as a member of Tokyo’s notoriously avant-garde hip-hop group called Think Tank, DJ YAZI draws inspiration from across the musical spectrum: the mentality of hip-hop, the intensity of dub and jazz, the ferocity of techno and the euphoria of house. As a DJ he moves fluidly across styles, with his sets connected by a strong focus on deep and tripped-out grooves. His attention to detail, precision, and masterful control over the decks clearly show his long-time involvement in this art form.

Seoul-based DJ/underground activist Djilogue is the director of Seoul's underground club vurt, curator of the ambient podcast series 꿈 KKUM, and a DJ specializing in experimental and techno music. Djilogue is essentially exploring the concept of underground and exploring uncharted territories, and he plays unique DJ sets with various rhythms and new sounds from techno, ambient, and experimental music.

Victor Aguinaga aka Chicagodeep a Chicago native who grew up on the South Side of the city. His first years that got him into House music was at the age of 11. House music was played on various radio stations across the city. He would stay up late nights just to record the mixes.

As he grew older at the age of 14 he decided to be a House DJ/ He started playing various house parties and raves in the mid ninenties.

In 2011 Victor decided to take his career a step further and learning the ropes of music production. His debut came in 2012 with label partner and good friend Taelue on a Spanish label called Minuendo Recordings. 

2013 Victor decided to start his own label with good friend Taelue and released their first release with Specter & Linkwood. His first album with Taelue will be released in 2016 entitled Metaphoric Expression.

Chuang Tzu was a philosopher in ancient China, who, one night went to sleep and dreamed that he was a butterfly. He dreamt that he was flying around from flower to flower and while he was dreaming he felt free, blown about by the breeze hither and thither. He was quite sure that he was a butterfly. But when he awoke he realised that he had just been dreaming, and that he was really Chuang Tzu dreaming he was a butterfly. But then Chuang Tzu asked himself the following question: "was I Chuang Tzu dreaming I was a butterfly or am I now really a butterfly dreaming that I am Chuang Tzu?"
