The story about the second verse of this song is a good one:  When Jenny and I fell in love and before we finally started our relationship we dated quite a few times. And never once did one of us make a first move.  But during our last date before we got together Jenny said: "Look at us. We're acting like two cats around a bowl of milk, not knowing what the hell to do".  I couldn't do anything but smile, because She was so right. That same evening we finally got together. A week or two later I wrote that part into our song. So that's what those second verse lyrics mean. We had quite a few people ask "what the hell is that second part all about". Well, now you know.

Jenny takes over the lead vocals in this track. I stick to the secondary voices. Jenny does a great job and I'm happy to let her have the spotlight in this one of our more recent songs. She deserves it.

“Promises” is an upbeat pop rock song about a relationship with someone unreliable. It's been fun to work on a handful of chords some months ago. After adding licks, soli and lyrics it became a catchy song with a twist. Thanks for the collab!

Promises (with Jason Challis and Kelly Best)

"Pyromancer" is a fiery folk metal song about the conquest of a medieval fortress. Can something be more metal than fire, magic and a heavy wall of guitars?!

This song is what happens when weird ideas come to another and bring people together. The catchy melody longed for a hurdy gurdy and heavy guitars.  Jordan's power metal falsetto brought my pen and paper inspired lyrics into life. A rough demo of us two summoned Stephan and Simon, who handed in plenty of bass, mandoline and guitar takes. Ben had an idea for a violin solo I could never think of. We ended up writing and recording a metal song that may never existed, if we took ourselves too serious. We already had a videoclip in mind, but I grabbed my graphics tablet instead and drew the pyromancer with that evil grin on his face. 

Thanks for the joy you've brought to me. I hope you enjoy the song as much as we do! We wish you a happy new year - and now let the pyros go off!
