Being stuck in isolation for so long made it easy for my mind to wander down a dark path, looking at things with a bitter perspective, and wishing for things that weren't there. Most of the titles on the release were relevant to how I was feeling or what I was going through as I wrote the tunes. Completing this release has really helped me overcome the feeling of general sadness and wishful thinking I was experiencing and start to change my outlook in a more positive light. ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Keerd is fascinated by how music influences the environment around us - how it sets the scene and tells a story that reflects the writer's emotions or experiences in unique ways. With the California native’s background in sound design, he has been perfecting his craft in electronic music for the past decade. This multi-genre producer strives to tell stories through his music and mixes, taking the listener on a kinetic yet spacious journey with his original sounds and movements. He is a founding member of Inquiry Collective and assists in managing their record label, Inquiry Records.

Over The Moon is the new sister imprint of Behind The Sky Music, a record label created by established electronic producer Bluetech which is committed to releasing high quality limited edition vinyl presses of analog and modular synth music.  Formed during the pandemic lockdown, Over The Moon is a collaboration between label partners and longtime friends Evan Bartholomew (Bluetech) and Maggie Houtz (DJ Maggie). The two work closely on co-producing the weekly Twitch audiovisual show Holotropic Happy Hour as well as the various artists Matters of the Heart compilation in summer of 2021 for Behind the Sky. Maggie’s love for - and encyclopedic knowledge of - downtempo electronica is the guiding force in curating a catalog of gorgeous and emotional electronic music. Over The Moon is delighted to present our sophomore release, the debut release from a bright new talent on the downtempo scene.  Encounters, from Bay Area based multi-instrumentalist and producer Tyler Hovestadt, is a project that seeks to find balance between organic musicality and electronic exploration.  On 'A Path Beyond', Encounters gently evokes a sense of calm through uplifting tones and thoughtful progression, enveloping the listener in a cocoon of heart centered magic.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Tyler Hovestadt began his musical endeavor by experimenting and improvising with synthesizers as a part of garage jam sessions with his friends. After furthering his craft in sound design and arrangement, he went on to produce his own compositions and establish Encounters. Aiming to marry the digital and analog world, Encounters fuses organic, live-recorded percussion with meticulously constructed electronic soundscapes.

Bluetech's latest single "Restless" is an auditory odyssey through the celestial expanse. The track takes the listener on a captivating journey through the boundless expanse of space, with delicate downtempo beats, analog sound effects, and melancholy female vocals that transport the listener to the outer reaches of the universe. This single also includes a fantastic remix by Erothyme, which adds an extra layer of depth and complexity, elevating the track to new heights.

The artwork for the album, created by Bluetech himself, features Laika the Cosmonaut, who serves as a reminder of the endless possibilities of space. "Spacehop Chronicles 2" is an album that invites us on a journey through the stars, an expedition of discovery and wonder. Bluetech returns with a new single "Echoes of Orion" featuring the legendary Laika the Cosmonaut. The track takes us on a mesmerizing journey through the cosmos, with Laika exploring new galaxies and encountering luminous entities and undiscovered worlds. As a parable of transformation and change, Laika's story is a fitting voice for these times, and Bluetech is proud to continue her narrative.

This single also features two fantastic remixes by Misled Convoy and Somatoast, each adding their own unique touch to the track. Misled Convoy brings a deep atmospheric dub soundscape and intricate sound design to the remix, while Somatoast takes us on a psychedelic journey with his mesmerizing production and hyper-intelligent beat production. In 2021, for DJ Maggie's birthday, Evan Bluetech came forward with a special idea: starting the label "Over the Moon." He recognized that Maggie had the perfect mix of skills for running a record label. Her keen sense for picking out gems in the downtempo genre, coupled with her vast network of artist relationships, made her an ideal choice. While Evan initially collaborated on the label's foundation, he's since stepped into an advisory role, providing insights while DJ Maggie takes the helm as the driving force behind Over the Moon. Bluetech's latest tracks, stemming from the forthcoming "Spacehop Chronicles Vol. 2" release, remain a key part of Over the Moon's lineup.
