I love the original - this is almost a new song entirely, though you did mention "reimagined," and a really good cover as a result - it's own thing!

Very interesting interpretation. I think some rap verses would fit well with it and maybe some harmonies in the choruses.

You have captured a sense of longing and melancholy that suits the lyrics well.
