Five years of Tepeme, check. M.RUX steering the wheel for the 100th mix of this series, check. 

M.RUX records legendary set after legendary set, and he's back after some time since his last one, joining us for our birthday número cinco. Soulful, bluesy, world exotica, misty psychedelia and of course, crazy good drums. 

"It's all framed in by samples of Georges Perec and Bernard Queysanne's film:
"Un Homme Qui Dort" from 1974 
which to seems fit our current situation pretty well."

Connecting for such a special moment, the artwork comes from a collab between collage geniuses Ventral is Golden and Dima Rabik. Their visual work is enchanting and them working together for this is just heartwarming.

Welcome back, dear listener. It's a pleasure to have you here. 

So, wheels are in motion and guess what? We got multicultural top selecta Lotte Ahoi to start the year off right. 

With her recording from Plan:et C - Beta 2021, she gently leads our imagination to a soothing garden of colorful music, where every flower represents a track carefully planted and nourished. As you wander and smell the fresh air, you feel that you can call this your home and come back anytime you want.

When listening to this experienced digger, you notice a potpourri from so many directions, yet, what has always remained constant in her mixes is the rather relaxed rhythm and lots of melody she swings. For years we keep falling in love with her mixes, as we align with her philosophy that musical boundaries only exist in our heads.

In order to understand what moves her and her listeners, one has to imagine the nature of a sloth – a sloth that loves music but hates stress, instead choosing to hang on a tree, watching the flowers grow and waiting for the sun to shine in her ears.

Lotte, we thank you for your never-ending search for diamonds in the rough, slowly weaving them together in a slowmomoving and sneakily surprising wave of Funkumbiafrorientropical Slothdisco (yeah, that's right). 

Shout out to @urbancosmonautradio, a distinguished label and mix series that she runs with Burntale, which keeps being an inspiration for Tepeme.

⫷ 𝕂𝕠𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕒 ⫸

This set is about freedom.
Freedom to live freely, 
Freedom to be who we are, 
Freedom to think and act in respect of Mother Earth and all living beings.

This set is dedicated to Kohana, a 20 years old female orca who recently died in captivity. She spent her whole life privated from her freedom to live in the Ocean, among her pod.

Through this musical journey, I set the intention of honoring Kohana, her being, her spirit, her courage to live in captivity for so long. I secretly hope she had experienced joy in her life and even if it was in an aquatic park, I’m sure she had moved a lot of people and planted seeds in people’s consciousness who saw her as who she really is : a magnificent creature of the seas, and not only there to serve human’s desires of being entertained. 

She is now FREE, swimming in the cosmic consciousness! 

During my whole creative process, while I was playing, while I was recording again the set (the first recording was totally saturated and unusable), and even now, while I’m writing these words, she is with me, giving me force and confidence.

I’m amused to think that while I was jumping on the decks, it was her jumping through me.

Therefore, in this musical journey I had to honor to share with you during O’Tawa - Okinawa, I explored various emotions (sadness and anger but also uplifting joy and peace) through different genres, mostly down/darktempo but also melodic techno, downpitched techno, psygressive and house. 

I want to thank all the incredible musicians who made this set happen. 
I have lots of respect for these producers who bring their art into the world and inspire us at every listen.

The artwork is made by me. I picture KoHana spirit, swimming peacefully and freely.

Thanks again O'Tawa for your invitation and thank you all for dancing and honoring Kohana with me.
It was for sure a dance for her and our energies combined to support all the orcas still in captivity to give them force, courage and feelings of joy.

Telecast - #045 - Telecasting to the cosmos! Welcome to the forty-fifth TELECAST. A series of podcasts that I am releasing monthly with the humble aim of combining the music I find, love, and want to share into a set for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully, it will become your go-to place for a fix of good music.

Time for a new Telecast! It’s number 45 already so we should be hitting the half centennial mark somewhere this year. This month it features a couple of new artists that I fell in love with, mainly, Zedjue. His downtempo tracks are amazing and feature a lot of electric guitars and funky synths.

My good friends Polynation came out of hibernation and have released a new EP for the first time since 2019 and it’s a beauty! I featured the first and last track of the EP as the last and first track of the podcast.

I added a David Lynch track as a tribute to someone who has inspired millions and freaked out millions more with his wacky stuff.

Und sonst … naja ich wünsch allen meinen geneigten Hörern, Follower, Freunden und anderen Menschen eine ruhige oder feierreiche Zeit. Aber keine Angst eine Folge gibt’s noch in diesem 2015 … lasst euch überraschen.

"I’ve always been sensitive to my surroundings and the world is in a very vulnerable place at the moment. I felt I needed to express my true emotions through something a little bit different to a conventional DJ mix and also that just writing one song was not going to be enough.

It was almost like composing a score, the only difference being that the pictures were only in my head. My ambition was for the music to evoke a visual response in the listener rather than just an emotional one. To do that I took some audio snippets of real life current affairs scenarios that really struck a chord in me and then used my DJ instinct to think of a track/musical piece that would fit well to that particular scene. Sometimes when I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted I added my own music over existing music or did my own sound design to create my own sound effects and also wrote some original pieces in the moment. It was very important to me to create ultimate flow and I felt this could only have been achieved without having any beats supporting the music. I also didn't want to make it eclectic nor constant as I felt that would disrupt the listener’s focus emotionally. There is a strong dynamic range throughout similar to classical music and also some parts that are almost meditative and then in contrast some more intense moments.
