Next up we have the ethereal talent that is Pasta Kebab. Amelia Constanti is a Dj, producer and artist based in North West London however flows between all areas of the capital. She has played a huge part in the underground scene for some time now offering us the most tasteful experiences London has to offer through her mystical, experimental mixes, exhibitions and personality which has bagged her residencies on Kindred and Aaja. Not to mention being a part of West London’s hidden-gem label and collective, Kite Hill Records. One may say she is the full package with the eyes and ears for deep, dubby and swampy sounds. There’s no doubt Mills brings a breath of sweet fresh air to everything she does, creating the most obscure, hypnotic mixes and sets on and off the dancefloor....Pasta Kebab takes us on a tumultuous journey through off beat, avant garde experimental.....

1. How and why did you get into producing / dj'ing?

I started because I was exposed to a lot of DJs and producers and I felt like I could also have a voice within the electronic world, I was given a really big push by people around me to just try and explore. Then my student loan came in and it gave me the financial ability to build a collection of records, buy Ableton, and immerse myself in my own little world without any limitations. 

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you've been to or experienced and why?

Event @ Ormside. I let out a lot of aggression and I really resonated with the dark atmosphere Nkisi had created. I let myself go within a really accommodating environment where I had space to completely rage through dance.

3.Are you an introvert or extrovert in the industry?

Depends on my mood! Sometimes I’ll be having a really good day and end up talking to everyone and their aunties lol, other times I’ll be really reserved and just be soaking up the music and the environment. I think now I have to allow myself to not feel guilty for being introverted, because it's a really giving experience when you are with yourself and everyone else is secondary. Sounds quite selfish but sometimes I think it's necessary to have musical experiences with yourself and no one else. 

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever what would it be?

That is a question I always swerve BUT I think a song I will never tire of is Indian Dub by Mad Professor, a heavily played-out fave of mine haha. 

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? do you have any special remedies/ mental prep/ places to go to? :)

Firstly I always dig through my archives which is a massively enjoyable experience for me, I find having a dig through my own stash is like looking back at my different phases and headspace’s. I also look at songs I was too scared to play in a set and I try to base my next set around those songs. I find I dig better when I’m on the move, so a long train/bus ride is perfect for me, then I associate those songs with a pleasant journey compared to digging in my bedroom which is obviously more mundane… but I definitely don’t shy away from bedroom digging with my ginger honey tea and some candles going girl!

CoziMix 02 - Pasta Kebab

Doris Dana is the project of Miami-based experimental sound artist, Mónica Mesa. It is a project that falls in the interzone between ambient, industrial, and tape music—an auditory exploration of the liminal space in mundane moments. Mónica is also part of the duo bad LSD trips, whose album by the same name was released via Enmossed and Psychic Liberation, and has released 3 EPs under the umbrella of doris dana since then via Miami-based labels, Impresión and Noir Age.

This mix features a selection of tracks by artists that inhabit a sonic psychedelic landscape; words; layered improvisations, and unreleased tracks—it is a soundtrack for imaginary films.

Moving his first steps through the freed spaces of Macao, gone-but-not-forgotten squat center for experimental art practices in Milan, primordial OOze involves one of the early members of the Saturnalia festival crew and engine behind the mind-altering happenings and artifacts of Communion. Crafting soundtracks for chemical dreams as xàr num and twisted underwater dances with the trio Cortex of Light, he’s also one of the mind behind A.R.X. (Ambient Rave eXperience). With mixes aired on NTS, Kiosk, LYL Radio, Rinse FM, Noods, Mutant Radio and tracks released on Artetetra/Communion, Comic Sans, Eska and Pho Bho, in its mutable shapes the OOze has spread over the years in spaces and happenings like Jazz is Dead (IT), Nextones (IT), Codex Club (DE), Cosmic Gathering (DE), Dromoscope X (DE), Outernational Days (RO), Nyege Nyege (UG), Danzas Obsidiana (PT), Club Cocoon (BE). Superimposing ancient echoes and flash-forward insights, his mixes are as various as the moments in whom they happen or by whom they’re inspired: from ecstatic drifts beyond the wall of sleep to storms of percussions and noises spiralling close to the speed of light.

30th August 2023 - Slow on the upload for this one as it's been a busy few weeks of festivals! Over 3 weeks ago now that we had this belting b2b2b!

We met Oli at Three Wheel Drive last month, and after hearing his tunes on the Saturday evening immediately invited him to join us on the radio. Fitting of him to suggest a mechanical Paolozzi for the artwork as we clicked into gear very smoothly.

Sparse drum rhythms got dubbier and chunkier until we were playing acid and techno by the hour mark. Second half swapped the machines for guitars and the full colour spectrum in dreamy psychy synthy breaksy plinky-plonkiness. That Lucio Dalla tune was a tribute to Raf Reza's blissful sunrise set to close Three Wheel Drive. Enjoy!
