Episode 40 - Guest Mix by Rumi Morrison

Another priceless Priceless for the books. 
What a treat it is for the 3rd year in a row to play this beautiful festival nestled between the tallest of trees.

I played this set at 2am at the Forest stage, and it's all feels and textures - not a rager but full of energy. It's dark and moody. One might even say it's like magma that flows under ground - slow and powerful...

It's a set I've been craving to play for a while - I loved seeing tracks from different times in my life flow together in one potent current.

Asymmetry @ Priceless 2023

It was a privilege and joy to be invited back to Priceless and play music at one of my favorite stages, at my favorite time of night. 3-4am, the soft landing from higher to lower energy, the fuzzy interface between deep house, downtempo and ambient, darkness and euphoria, fogginess and clarity, vertical and horizontal. 

I took this set as a chance to experiment with hybrid live/DJing and mix some of my own tracks with some all time favorites from other artists- tracks that have inspired me, that I've come back to over and over again, that have always made me think "damn this would sound good at the Forest Stage at 4am." 

Thanks to the Forest/Pool Stage crew for setting up a dope soundsystem, stage, and lighting. Thanks to my wife for being my musical muse and introducing me to several of the tracks in this mix and for taking care of our sick son at home- wish you could have been there. Thanks to the friends and family who stayed up late and let me share tunes with them.

Always a lover of the ambient and downtempo worlds as well, palindrome is committed to immersing the senses with atmosphere across a range of tempos and feels.  palindrome's dj sets draw on sounds and artists from around the world, while his original productions also traverse a wide set of genres, from Ambient to Jungle, and some cuts that defy easy classification like the 11+ minute epic "Doris's Day" written for a friend's new baby, Doris, as the imagined soundtrack to her first journey outside walking on two feet.
