Jessica Saves makes a scintillating SOL debut this January with an intricate 3 track release titled ’Weekend On Alpha Centauri’. The title cut sets the scene immediately, coating lush, wavering synth-work and distant vocal samples in a dense, cosmic atmosphere that is truly palpable.  

‘Final Approach’ paints a picture of its own through the use of hypnotic pads and delicate melodic touches. The combination presents a flowing evolution that consumes the listeners and transports the mind far from home.  

Closing out the release is ‘The Forests Of Arion’, which presents a third chapter in the story. Similarly tense and beautifully textured, it offers up an inimitable experience of its own, contrasting a threatening low-end with entrancing melodies. It renders a dark yet hopeful conclusion.

Огни(Ogni) an experimental sound artist from Helsinki is performing and producing tense esoteric ambient,  representing a composition for EABE compilation, the track is a fully deep emotional drone to escort you alone through the twilight in nature.

Огни - Fading Through Branches and Rustling Leaves

lintulintu is a collaborative sound project led by Lintu Lunar. By creating connections between artists with variating practices, no strings attached or all strings attached, lintulintu is unbuilding binaries between soul, flesh and society. Softly piercing through consciousness, lintulintu wants to play technosexual tunes and create non-binary data fantasies.

Paper cut is about letting go. Minds diving in to deep waters and ideas flying along with winds. In this track i was able to find flexibility to travel far away while day dreaming. I cut through the skin on my finger accidentally trying to record paper dancing with air. It didn't hurt and i just licked the wound.

Url is one of the pseudonyms of Aku Leinikki - multidisciplinary electronic artist from Helsinki. After a creative break of roughly ten years from ambient / IDM type of music Url has finally come out with something brand new. During this time his work released by Kahvi Collective is probably somewhat forgotten so now it’s the perfect time to bring back those lush soundscapes and wistful emotions. This track is stitched together from several synth jams - some played purely by human hands and some sourced from semi-random modular synth patches.

Helsinki-based label EABE Records presents ten quality tracks from local ambient producers on this compilation. Among the producers are some more experienced music makers and also younger talents of whom we'll surely hear more in the future.
The story of Finnish ambient started with keyboard player Esa Kotilainen's album Ajatuslapsi (1977) and continued in the 1990s with next generation producers like Mika Vainio alias Ø, Nemesis, Vladislav Delay and many others. Like in several other genres of electronic music, there has always been a reasonable amount of skill and talent among Finnish producers, though they might not be the biggest names worldwide. 
Our choice was 'As Air' by Jukka-Pekka Kervinen, a Finnish composer, electronic musician, writer and visual artist. His works are mainly focused on various algorithmic systems, programmed by the composer himself, from avantgarde chamber music to techno, IDM, glitch and ambient. 'As Air' is a work recorded real time using Reaktor, and a set of ChucK programs for manipulating samples and loops algorithmically during the session. Non-programmed sound parameters are improvised and adjusted manually by composer. The atmosphere on the track reminds of a factory or a railway station – or something else, it's up to the listener's imagination.
