In 2011, NEK and I were discussing the social situation in the cosmic village of Athens, where the remains luxurious past are all but lost.

Amongst the underprivileged are hopeless immigrants, junkies, mothers watching mothers who are scavenging food, kids earning their daily bread by cleaning dirty car windows and even police officers. 

They have been thrown into hell; into a colorful puzzle. A real Babylon, made up of different people with different needs.
I had composed a powerful tune keeping this entire situation in mind which Dj Booker caught the meaning of. In response, he scratched a sample, saying "You put a wax on a table and you set it on fire." 

On the other hand, NEK, who is one of the best freestylers around, immediately wrote lyrics based on this "social fire" and started singing. 
And so, "Babylon On Fire" was ready!

Snowflake, the first single from the upcoming Sound Nomaden debut album is a deep and clubby House track, combining smooth Jazz samples with warm synth sounds and electronic beats. It is an emotional fusion of genres that make Snowflake suit every club set as well as a chillout mix for a launch or a listener at home. With it's catchy saxophone solo the album mix joined by MSP is definitely a feel good song that will make you smile.

"I was sitting in my studio and watched the snowflakes falling down in front of my window. It was a beautiful picture and so I tried to capture this warm and dreamy feeling into a new song."

The Uncluded - Scissorhands

A short expedition into the much overlooked tipica cumbia sound of Panamá

The heartache, melancholy and joy in the Panamá Tipica sound is hard to match and like no other to experience. It comes from a rich background of regional musical traditions, carnival rivalry and hotbeds like the legendary 'Festival en Guarare'. As I understand it, Panamanian cumbia was first played on violin until the arrival of accordions on the Isthmus, most early acordeoneros were violinists first and foremost. This mixtape comprises of some of the best 45s from the Herrera and Los Santos provinces, from the mid 50s through to late 60s. Over the last few years I've had the good fortune to meet several of these wonderful artists. Featured here: Dorindo, Papi Brandao, Oswaldo,Fito Espina, Ulpiano, Ceferino and more... they never have to leave, I miss the smell, the dust, the coins, the
trust, the squeaky carts, the vibrations, the bucket full of bleach,
the dryer sheets, the old pay phone, the giant sink, I'd watch my
daddy mop the floor and my heart started with a quarter.

6 Razed to the ground

Born in 1974 and raised in Egion where he started working as a dj at the age of fourteen.
In parallel to djing, he delves into production as an artist and co founder of Cast-a-Blast in 2006. Along with Blend Mishkin he forms the duet Palov and Mishkin, launching the compilation “Backslam Extravaganza” (2007). They then went on to release the widely praised album “Think Twice” (2009) while at the same time remixing and editing for highly acclaimed labels such as G.A.M.M., Rebtuz,  Resense, Bastard Jazz, Tru Thoughts ,Love Monk etc.
Since then Palov went on to release his debut solo “Whats That” revealing the smooth musicianship between him and the guitarist player Angelos Angelides. Within as well outside the framework of this partnership he forged production and remixing collaborations with several artists including Caro Emerald , Mo’ Horizons, Lady Faye ,Maraveyas Illegal, Daniela Bolano, Kill Emil and BNC.Nowdays he’s collaborating with Panama Cardoon and together they’re running a label called Carnibal.
Actively djing all this time he has shared the decks with well known djs/producers like Quantic, Andy Smith, Bonobo, Nickodemus ,Lack of Afro ,Florian Keller, Jon Kennedy ,Henry Storch ,Ben Lamdin ,7Samurai, Herbaliser ,Tm Juke , Mo’Horizons , Rob Luis  to name a few.
