Exclusive JOBE 'Rafari'

Chapter 24's latest EP comes from Newcastle producer and DJ Jobe, who has released on labels such as Connaisseur, Steyoyoke, Akbal and, of course, London based label Chapter 24. In the history of latter JOBE is responsible for one of the most favorited and successful tracks, Aurora, so undoubtedly the label bosses Marcus and Sam welcome JOBE back with open arms and most important with a sophisticated and tribal-influenced 4 tracker called 'Changes' - probably re-writing the label's formula of success. The EP's opening track 'Rafari' is arranged around an African vocal but leaves the 'world music path' with the sound design of the track's instrumental approach. JOBE focuses on a  lead-synth that accepted the challenge of bringing two different musical approaches together and leads the track skillfully into a more techno direction.

JOBE's EP 'Changes' will be out November 10th, 2017 on Chapter 24.

After releasing on Stil Vor Talent & Bar 25, Bloody Shelby delivers a quality EP with 3 original tracks on Plaisirs Sonores Records. The main title is a dancefloor killer with noisy arp and groovy bass. 'Skagen', a collaboration with his friend Convergence System is a trippy yet groovy track and 'Birch' is an exciting opening track.

There's also 3 stunning remixes part of it. A very dreamy one by Renato (DE) on 'Birch', an uplifting one by Severin Su on 'Skagen', and a raw techno oriented reinterpretation on 'Birch' by Lossless.

An established force in the world of underground dance, GMJ continues to combine hard work and talent with incredible results, fully illustrated in his new "Mystic Sea" EP for Proton Music.

Calling Melbourne home on the country's south-eastern coast, Gavin Griffin is a musical tour de force. Through his GMJ moniker, the Australian artist has continued to find himself at the forefront of his home city's musical scene by playing headline sets at the likes of the globally renowned "Rainbow Serpent" festival alongside fellow Melbourne resident, Matter. International performances in London and Amsterdam Dance event 2019 have continued to cement a rapidly rising reputation.

Contemporaneously, a production career has blossomed with "an innate passion for deep emotive electronic music" that has witnessed over 300 production credits in both solo and collaborative production guise for some of the finest modern imprints including: Balkan Connection, Sudbeat Music and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Moreover, the twin-track, "Emerge" EP saw GMJ combine forces with Matter and FunkForm for a debut appearance on the renowned Balance imprint in November 2019.

A regular on Particles with a host of original and remix production material, 2014's "Edge of Remembrance" and "Forgotten Wisdom" EPs opened the door into GMJ's musical soul before going on to release the "Sovereign Reality" and "Catharsis" EP on the flagship label in October 2017 and May 2019. Furthermore, the "Superposition", "Osmosis" and "Interscope" offerings between 2016 and 2019 shone a bright light on his symbiotic partnership with Matter, while a March 2018 interlude with Hungarian star, East Café, bore fruit with "22".

Now returning to Proton Music, "Mystic Sea" is an immaculately crafted title track that combines cavernous club kick with a ticking percussive top line and huge grooved bassline as a perfect foundation for opulently textured pads to rise and fall in waves of modulated and gated syncopation. Effortlessly moving forward, a richly sustained and rasping bassline progression adds further dynamism before a sublime lead line hits the foreground with spine-tingling precision at the mid-point. Extending hypnotically into the third movement, a storm of textures and rhythmic interplay create an ocean of sound.

"Another Life" continues the rich musical narrative as vocal pads ripple across the upper mid-range in lengthy pulsating delays. A chunky rhythmic framework provides ample dancefloor character alongside a subterranean bassline phrase as a sublime melodic motif gradually filters into sonic range in a breakdown of dizzying percussive effects. As hypnotic as it is beautiful the track evolves majestically over its seven-and-a-half-minute voyage.

A new twin-track EP sees the creative talents of GMJ fully set sail across the "Mystic Sea".

Birthed on a never-ending day of February in Turkey's dynamic city of Istanbul, this piece fuses elements of electronica, deep house, and modern pop. The lush vocals of Bora convey a certain epicurism and invite us to let go and accept life.

This EP is complemented by the alternative versions of psychedelic duo Pandhora, British talent Shunus, and Volt Milano residents Sound Shapes. Pandhora crafted a progressive & melodic reshape incorporating jazzy chords and upbeat grooves. Shunus came up with a different story, slowing things down with his downtempo sound signature and a relish of western vibes. To wrap up this release, the Italian duo Sound Shapes infused their remix with deep sounds and decided to go for a tense atmosphere which suits afterhours dancefloors perfectly.

Cid Inc’s Replug Records caps off a successful year by welcoming Dmitry Molosh back to the label for a new artist showcase. The Belarus native and progressive music favourite rounded out 2018 with his chart topping ‘Detektor’ EP for the Finnish imprint. 2019 has seen further successes, with EP’s for Guy J’s Armadillo Records and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music sitting as the highlights. Now fresh off a contribution to Nick Warren’s Balance compilation, Dmitry lands back on Replug with ‘Cascade’.

Firmly sitting amongst progressive music's elite, Dmitry continues to deliver some of the genre's most beloved tracks with 'Cascade' being the latest in a long line of gems. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; it's chunky foundation, driving percussion and buoyant rhythmic core form the backbone of this exhilarating journey. Panning effects and emerging atmopheres smoothly segue into the main break, shifting the narrative further into melodic territory. Sitting comfortably in an ethereal yet emotive space, the lead motif rises, resonating on a warm and inviting frequency, gently evolving across a foggy atmospheric backdrop, before a gentle rush sparks a thrilling final act.

The companion piece ‘Step By Step’ follows suit with an equally impressive display of rhythm and groove. Spacious and energetic, it’s a creation built around rolling bass tones and vibrant chord stabs. Ethereal phrases and buzzing effects converge as the first act unfolds, while colourful vocal fragments shift energy into the break. Timely modulation adds drama and tension across the one minute interlude, ultimately reaching a swirling crescendo and perfectly setting up a powerful third act.

Dmitry’s long standing relationship with Replug has spawned several of progressive music’s finest moments over the last half decade. ‘Cascade’ once again follows suit and looks set to be one of the winter seasons most in demand releases.

Archetypal rhythms, otherworldly melodies, and galaxies of possibility converge in Pandhora, a solarpunk-inspired, electronic music project whose France-based founders, Amine and Rémi, seek community over accolades and wonder over predictability. 

Disenchanted with the confines of the corporate world, the duo left their respective engineering jobs in 2015 to embark on a sonic quest. Fusing psychedelia and electronica with moods of melancholia, mystery, and bliss, they began to craft in music their vision for personal and collective empowerment: the curation of dreams, the embrace of freedom, and reverence for the Earth.

The band’s emphasis on instrumental improvisation and artistic collaboration reflects their drive to innovate, share, and experiment. Pandhora’s music, and especially their live shows, elicit strong emotions and deep catharsis. Free-form, unstructured sounds combine elements of vocals, guitar, and keyboard. Ethereal rhythms and eclectic  euphonies usher audiences on a journey with the artists into collective dreamscapes and deep states of consciousness where the possible can be imagined and the true self envisioned. 

Since 2018, Pandhora has taken their live acts, including The Piper In The Sky, Deep Psychedelia, and Evasion, on the road to venues in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and India. Join Pandhora on the quest to explore inner worlds and, together, heal and enhance the outer world.
