Rhythmic Reverie: Exploring Pandhora's Captivating ‘Choices’

In a world where life often confronts us with challenging decisions, French duo Pandhora has ventured deep into the human psyche to craft their latest release, ‘Choices’. This three-track EP encapsulates the emotional turmoil of facing life-altering choices when neither option appears perfect, and yet, one must push forward through the pain.

The original track, ‘Choices’, is a Melodic Techno gem that effortlessly combines progressive beats with powerful, emotionally charged vocoded vocals. From the very first beat, listeners are drawn into a sonic journey that takes them on a rollercoaster ride of self-reflection and introspection. The duo skillfully blends intricate melodies with a driving rhythm that keeps the listener hooked from start to finish. Rafael Cerato's remix of ‘Choices’ takes the original in an entirely new direction. This spring saw seasoned XYZ contributor Koelle team up with multi-instrumentalist Reza Safinia on Reverie, a two-sided offering which saw the union of electronic tones and orchestral influences into a dance floor affair. As the fall arrives to Montréal, we're pleased to present our biggest remix compilation to date. 6 artists from the over the broad melodic house & techno spectrum offered their versions of the tracks through the Vol.1 and Vol.2 of the Reverie remixes.

As a bonus pack, we are now thrilled to deliver alternate mixes of 4 of the remixes.

First, Lovecraft offers an instrumental version of his highly emotional 'Reverie' remix.

Archetypal rhythms, otherworldly melodies, and galaxies of possibility converge in Pandhora, a solarpunk-inspired, electronic music project whose France-based founders, Amine and Rémi, seek community over accolades and wonder over predictability. 

Disenchanted with the confines of the corporate world, the duo left their respective engineering jobs in 2015 to embark on a sonic quest. Fusing psychedelia and electronica with moods of melancholia, mystery, and bliss, they began to craft in music their vision for personal and collective empowerment: the curation of dreams, the embrace of freedom, and reverence for the Earth.

The band’s emphasis on instrumental improvisation and artistic collaboration reflects their drive to innovate, share, and experiment. Pandhora’s music, and especially their live shows, elicit strong emotions and deep catharsis. Free-form, unstructured sounds combine elements of vocals, guitar, and keyboard. Ethereal rhythms and eclectic  euphonies usher audiences on a journey with the artists into collective dreamscapes and deep states of consciousness where the possible can be imagined and the true self envisioned. 

Since 2018, Pandhora has taken their live acts, including The Piper In The Sky, Deep Psychedelia, and Evasion, on the road to venues in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and India. Join Pandhora on the quest to explore inner worlds and, together, heal and enhance the outer world.
