Behind the Sound:
In the studio, KOYENGA, Solar Kings, and TROJH worked exclusively with Ableton Live, employing a hybrid approach of software and analog gear. The setup included iconic synthesizers such as the Korg Miniloog, Bass Station, and Arturia, complemented by favorites like U-he Diva, Omnisphere, and Native Instruments' Kontakt. This combination allowed the artists to create a rich and immersive sonic landscape, characterized by hypnotic rhythms and emotive melodies.

Yamil is a Spanish artist who has excelled at crafting moving house sounds on the likes of Sol Selectas and MoBlack while headlining plenty of key festival stages. A chance meeting in Malaga in 2020 led to the start of a creative friendship with producer and percussionist G.Zamora. He has studied ancient African and Latin American rhythms for over 20 years and brings ancestral folklore to his work.

Together, the pair excel here with 'Vientos Ilegan' which rides on vast, cavernous kick drums. Their warmth envelops you as gentle chords, hypnotic chants and Afro percussion all speak to the soul. It's a cultured cut that brings an authentic sense of joy and celebration of life.

Sabo is back on his record label, Sol Selectas, with a stripped-back single, “Freedom,” that has soulful vocals and a melodic groove, there is also an Afro house remix by, FNX Omar.

Based in Los Angeles, America, Sabo is an influential pioneer of organic house, but he has eclectic tastes that also incorporate genres ranging from progressive house to deep tech. He is known internationally for his storytelling DJ sets that enrapture dancefloors, and his productions embrace his innate knowledge of how to captivate mind, body, and soul.

Sol Selectas is a leading outlet for organic house and its associated genres, and it’s where Sabo releases the majority of his own music, alongside productions by others such as Hraach, Armen Miran, Namito, Be Svendsen, German Brigante, and many others.

On remix duty, FNX Omar is a Moroccan artist from Casablanca, and he is an Afro house producer that combines traditional rhythms and percussion from Morocco with modern electronic sounds. His unique and invigorating style can be found on influential record labels including Get Physical, MoBlack, Nervous Records, Freerange, Watergate, and Kindisch.

The original mix of, “Freedom,” has soulful vocals layered with melodic chords and array of organic sounds such a saxophone stabs and guitar licks. Sparse melodies and bass flurries are sandwiched between techy percussion with a minimal sound, while melodic pads build moments of suspense.

FNX Omar’s remix of “Freedom” adds rhythmic synth stabs, gliding pads and muffled vocal stabs that alongside his additional percussion, create a jackin’ groove. The original’s vocal remains the track’s focal point, but the backing track has been injected with a boost of Afro house energy.

The art by Helia Jamali embodies the emotional power of freedom itself, represented by the warm colours and open arms of the eagle.

Archetypal rhythms, otherworldly melodies, and galaxies of possibility converge in Pandhora, a solarpunk-inspired, electronic music project whose France-based founders, Amine and Rémi, seek community over accolades and wonder over predictability. 

Disenchanted with the confines of the corporate world, the duo left their respective engineering jobs in 2015 to embark on a sonic quest. Fusing psychedelia and electronica with moods of melancholia, mystery, and bliss, they began to craft in music their vision for personal and collective empowerment: the curation of dreams, the embrace of freedom, and reverence for the Earth.

The band’s emphasis on instrumental improvisation and artistic collaboration reflects their drive to innovate, share, and experiment. Pandhora’s music, and especially their live shows, elicit strong emotions and deep catharsis. Free-form, unstructured sounds combine elements of vocals, guitar, and keyboard. Ethereal rhythms and eclectic  euphonies usher audiences on a journey with the artists into collective dreamscapes and deep states of consciousness where the possible can be imagined and the true self envisioned. 

Since 2018, Pandhora has taken their live acts, including The Piper In The Sky, Deep Psychedelia, and Evasion, on the road to venues in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and India. Join Pandhora on the quest to explore inner worlds and, together, heal and enhance the outer world.
