Celebrating 20 years of the BMSS family and ten years of BMSS the record label, "Return to the Source” brings together sonic synthesis from all corners of the multiverse. 

17 tracks representing the mature tone of BMSS, which has evolved over the last two decades into a style that pays tribute to the source of our scene by disregarding trend and convention. An eclectic selection gathered by label manager and globe trotting DJ Boom Shankar to challenge standards that breed conformity and reflecting his own personal style that prioritizes story and flow over genre and BPM.

The story told by this 20th anniversary release unfolds in two parts. The journey begins by taking you back to the source and the darker side of the Psychedelic spectrum. Chapter 1 revolves around the intense magnetic power of the moon. 

Defiant, relentless energy distilled into: one of the last tracks by the recently departed Hux Flux, new music by psychedelic pioneer Total Eclipse, Japanese production perfection from Majide, Triceradrops and his hybrid psychedelic Techno, Dark Nebula and Datacult’s re-imagined “Beyond that Door” experienced through a Gamma Goblin filter, the prolific PsiloCybian and masterful productions by the legend worthy Braincell, Imaginary Sight and Lucid Mantra. Their sonic wizardry is designed to reinvent and reconnect you as you embark on this epic odyssey through the underbelly of moon-time music.

Clever re-interpretations of ancient Goa trance classics stand alongside the intensely psychedelic visionary art of Aashit Singh. His visual fusion of the old and the new creates a bridge between the past and the present where Plus 6 Masterings' full bodied analog sound gives each audible detail a clearly defined space. 

Unusual choices. New points of inspiration. A return to the past through the forward looking lens of the now. No rules. No limits.

Ruigoord (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrœyxoːrt]) is a village in the Houtrakpolder in the Dutch province of North Holland, situated within the municipality of Amsterdam. Until the 1880s, it was an island in the IJ bay, which turned into a polder. The village is nowadays partially closed in by the Port of Amsterdam, and lies about 8 km east of Haarlem.[1]

In the 1960s the village was evacuated by the municipality of Amsterdam, which intended to extend its harbour, but the plans fell through. In 1972 the village was squatted by a group of artists who planned to make a colony there.[2][3] As such it exists to this day, but it is now legalized. Full moon parties are regularly organised in the formerly Roman Catholic village church and every year there is the Landjuweel (Land Jewel) festival in August.[4]

Since the early 2000s, the village has staged an annual poetry festival over the Whitsun weekend, Vurige tongen (Fiery Tongues). One of the festival's three days is always devoted to international poets. From 2003 on, a yearly Ruigoord Trophy has been awarded to individuals who have selflessly dedicated themselves to maintaining the village as an important cultural stronghold. The first such trophy was presented to Simon Vinkenoog. Nació en la capital de Rusia, Moscú. Su viaje de psytrance comenzó en 2003. Desde 2005 hasta 2007 fue residente de Synthetic Dreams. En otoño de 2007, se unió a TLN Promotion. En 2009 lanzó su EP "Awaken Stories" en el sello portugués Ultravision Records y comenzó a viajar y actuar. En 2009 fue galardonada en Rusia y como The Best Psytrance Dj. En 2011 se unió a Akida Bookings y después de años de viajes alrededor del mundo, lanzó su álbum debut "Reflected" en junio de 2013 en el sello sudafricano M.M.D. Records. Hoy en día está creando música para diferentes sellos y se unió a Dropland Recordings, lanzando allí: "Ablaze" EP, "Elucidate" EP y su segundo álbum de estudio "Beyond All Dimensions".

Z-Cat ha incorporando elementos de psy nocturno, melódico y sus propias muestras vocales, dándole a sí misma un toque único en el género. ¡Eterna euforia psicodinámica con un toque femenino!

Pantomiman is George Agaronov (or Gosha for short), a Russian psytrance producer with some extra flavour on top — he is a professional comic actor who comes from a family of circus comedy performers! Early in his childhood years Gosha began playing musical instruments, performing on stage and later composing his parts for a circus band. When Gosha was a teenager he discovered electronic music and a bit later towards the late nineties Gosha discovered something that felt very natural to him — psychedelic trance. Since then Gosha has been developing and working on his own sound, partly with an expert guidance from Alex Parasense. Pantomiman’s groovy bass lines and comical themes make people dance and laugh at the same time, while of course his skilful sound synthesis guarantees that a trip will be adventurous, joyful and amusing.
