Ohms Love is Eivind Johansson Vullum’s debut solo LP. 
It consists of a selection of tracks made over a four-year period. Drawing from his experience in field recording, film music composition and club event curation, Eivind sets forth a seamless collection of melodic and meditative beat-free music that stands out yet fits in the rich history of Norwegian ambient music. The form of Vullum’s electronic compositions reflects his background as a sound designer, which has had a strong influence on the dynamics and the narrative elements in his music. Ohms Love will be released on HMD Records Friday March 4th.

Eivind Johansson Vullum (b.1984) is a Norwegian musician, sound designer and DJ. Vullum has since the early 2000s been active in different bands such as the kraut/psych-pop four-piece Sally Suicide. From there, he ventured into a more electronic direction sonically. He was one half of the hardware techno duo Bloksberg, which made a name for itself with its leftfield techno in clubs both inside and outside Norway. As a DJ and promoter, he presented his concept Klubb Kadabra at the club Blå in Oslo for over three years, focusing on promoting local underground DJs.

Vullum holds a BA in Sound Design from the Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio (NISS) and is currently studying Musicology at the University of Oslo. Over the last few years he has worked in sound design and music production for short films and other visual projects such as the interactive installation Speisa –performed at the Ultima contemporary music festival in Oslo– and for the Kube Art Museum in Ålesund. His most recent collaboration has been with the artist Thyra Dragseth.

Ein echtes Brett ist der erste Podcast 2022, den uns @crlinecool kredenzt. Wobei sie dann doch schon ein paar atmosphärische Silversurfer-Momente einstreut. Genau richtig, nicht nur zum Wachwerden. Seit 2016 ist @crlinecool als Teil vom DJ-Kollektiv @ProZecco aktiv, wobei sie sich nicht nur durchs Auflegen, sondern auch via Workshops und Diskussionen für Pult-Zugang und -Skills für FINTA*-Acts stark macht. Dabei ist sie immer wieder auch beim DAVE Festival dabei gewesen. Neu ist zudem das Label @unusualsuspects_label, das Sie zusammen mit @Ostbaaam betreibt. Einiges los also bei crline, kann aber dann doch bald mal wieder losgehen, dass die Clubs wieder aufmachen. Als Überbrückung eignet sich der Podcast hier auf jeden Fall.

'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

Based in Turin, Italy, Paolo Virdis is an artist and producer with the power to teleport the listener in to strange, often dystopian lands, swimming in dark atmospheres and brooding intent. Inspired by the work on artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Drexciya and Kraftwerk, amongst others, there are echoes of Detroit Techno and even post/punk and new wave.

Single, ‘Rimango Qui’ (I Stay Here) is a slice of thumping techno, swirling with darkness, pulsing synth bass and a haunting vocal. It is pure atmosphere, like pacing the corridors of a club at 3am. ‘Abisso’ (Abyss) does exactly what it says on the tin, transporting listers to an intense abyss full of synth driven attitude and mystery. ‘Survive’ is pure suspense - synths loops march toward ghostly vocals, a heart-racing tempo drawing the listener deep inside the song. Paolo Virdis creates worlds for you to inhabit as you listen. These worlds are supplemented by a strong visual aesthetic; Virdis produces imagery that perfectly visualises the dark worlds he creates through his music.
