Wir blicken zurück auf ein turbulentes Jahr voller Höhen und Tiefen in dem wir viele tolle und inspirierende Mensch kennenlernen durften! Für unseren Schleichcast Jahresabschluss konnten wir den wunderbaren Anselmus gewinnen. Ein Künstler der uns regelmäßig mit seinen Produktionen überzeugt und von dem wir alle große Fans sind! Vielen Dank für das Set, wir freuen uns sehr dich an Board zu haben! <3

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Tach! Ik bin Michel aus Berlin.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Der Kessel Floor, beim Closing der damaligen Veranstaltungsreihe „Royal Wedding“ im Brunnen70, war mein erster richtiger DJ Gig und mein Einstieg ins DJing. Das war so Februar 2016. Eine Woche später ging es direkt nach Cottbus ins Scandale. Knapp 3 Jahre zuvor fing ich mit dem Produzieren an. Ohne die Herz&Leber Truppe von damals wäre ich nicht auf den Trichter gekommen aufzulegen. Da kam schon viel Support in der Anfangszeit und Skillsharing. Zu der Zeit gab es noch kein Recordbox und die CDJ Displays waren noch sehr klein, das war alles krass aufregend. Dann nahm alles ein wenig Fahrt auf, und jetzt bin ik hier.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik? 
Dass sie mehr Zeit und damit Raum für verschiedene Klänge lässt. Das ist eine subjektive Hörempfindung von mir, ich denke aber auch, dass harter und schneller minimalistischer Techno einen Raum öffnet, um zum Beispiel Streicher oder Synthis Raum zu geben. Bei dem Slow Rave, oder Mucke bis um die 110 bpm finde ich aber, dass sie viel mehr Kreativität zulässt. Die Mucke bei dem Low Tempo muss nicht minimalistisch sein. Sie ist für mich nicht anstrengend zu hören, deshalb produziere ich das Tempo gerade auch ausschließlich, anders als früher. 

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert? 
Mein letzter Gig in Halle und die letzte Veröffentlichung von Katabtu (@katabtu) haben mich zu dem Set inspiriert. 

>>Was ist dein aktueller Lieblingstrack oder Set?
Gerade höre ich viel Judith Arends und die neue EP von Ameli Paul. Das Liveset von Deep Andi hat mir sehr geschmeckt. Sonst genieße ich DJ Sets sehr gerne live und halte mir die Erinnerung warm. Dieses Jahr waren Sama und Katzenohr auf dem Planeten C mindblowing. Mein fav. DJ Set of all Time bleibt aber Be Sevendsen @ Fusion 2015. Das ist magisch.

>>An welchen schönen Moment denkst du in Verbindung mit elektronischer Musik gerne zurück?
Das wären zu viele. Nebel ist Leben und Sekt auf Eis am Morgen ist lecker. Vielleicht aber, als wir mal mit lautem Techno die AfD oder die ein oder anderen Nazis weggebasst hatten. Ich erinnere mich auch sehr gerne an Openings von Festival Floors. 

>>Was wünscht du dir in Zukunft fürs Nachtleben?
Damit es wieder stattfinden kann, wünsche ich mir in der nahen Zukunft am besten einen subventionierten PCR Kulturtest von der Politik. Der Club muss sich gerade als politischer Raum beweisen, sonst bleibt unsere Subkultur auf Jahre gegenüber anderen Strukturen zurück. Ich wünsche mir, dass wir uns alle mehr als ein Teil der Lösung, als ein Problem begreifen. Dazu mehr Freiräume. Awarenes & politische korrekte Umgänge beim Booking in Bezug auf Gender und Intersektionalität… und auch wichtig: NEBEL, LASER und SEKT!

“Mi mek mi move my foot fi som’ reggae!” -  get ready for one hour of dub and roots, prepared by @MarcusWorgull.

Since the early 90's, the Cologne-based DJ has been standing behind the decks delivering house music in all its varied colours.

In 2001 he began to release EP’s that originally focused on nu-jazz and broken beat vibes before transforming his sound into the modern high-end house that made him and his buddies Dixon and Âme, world famous.

Besides his career as a producer and DJ, he worked (and co-owned) the legendary Groove Attack Records store in Cologne - a place where he studied all sorts of music including reggae in all its dubby variations. How deep it entered his soul can be heard on his latest EP on his label home base, Innervisions. It’s called "Broad Horizons" and features two tracks named "Skango" and "Seen" that melt his passion for dub and reggae uniquely with state-of-the-art house.

For the EDWIN Music Channel this month, Marcus dug deep into his riddim collection and prepared a mix at the Worgulator Studios, that puts the house sound he is famed for aside and instead documents his love for Jamaican music spheres in order to satis-satisfy our souls!

This mix represents the true spirit of Jah! The Rastafari Elders – Bongo shep, if you are familiar or curious about the Rastafari culture this is a great album to own.The album is a mix of Nyahbinghi chants/ hymns and Rasta Elders reasoning, making for a very powerful and insightful body of work. It was sampled on Thievery Corporation: 2001, a spliff odyssey. Located in France, High tone have been making dub infused music, filled with vocal samples and foreign instruments for over 20 years. The American poet and lyricist William S. Burroughs was remixed by Dub Spencer and Trance on the album In dub. In a quality dub trademark, they use a vast array of mixing dub techniques and his unique voice to create a masterpiece of chilled dubby vibes! Michael George Campbell (4 June 1954 – 15 March 2008), better known as Mikey Dread, was a Jamaican singer, producer, and broadcaster. He was one of the most influential performers and innovators in reggae music. Saturday night style is on the album African anthem which features Robbie Shakespeare (Sly & Robbie), Augusto Pablo & King Tubby. On the model dub, Prince Fatty delivers a stunning cover of Kraftwerk’s electro pop in dub. See mi ya (I See you in Jamaican patois) – Riddim mix combines multiple Rhythm & Sound tracks such as See mi ya, Dem never know, Free for all, and Let Jah love come. Bandulu and Jam&Spoon were mostly known for their techno tracks but Paul Daley aka of Leftfield fame here delivers a stunning unreleased mix of Heart of Africa. Babe Roots is a new act that has released an album on Linear movement: Sun is shining sang here by Milly James is a cover of Bob Marley.

Appleblim’s Circling is one of the best releases on Skull disco, more known for Dubstep. On Rise again, legendary Dominica born MC Paul St-Hilaire delivers another smooth chant to accompany Deadbeat two step dub production. Rekall Presents- Dubnology Volume 1 (Dub Guest Mix)

Paper has been pushing all things deep house and disco from the furthest reaches of the world via the good old North of England since the early Nineties.

The label has already featured a new series of EP's showcasing the best new dance music and future funk, house and disco from the world's finest producers.

We kicked off in 1994, leading the upsurge in popularity of UK house music within an underground scene previously dominated by a soundtrack from US cities like Chicago, Detroit and New York.
