It's always a time for celebration when there's a release from Captain David Connolly who is now one of Paper's longest-serving artists, having been part of the label's digital relaunch in 2010.

Durant is up there with the likes of Floating Points with its fusion of jazz, classical and soundtrack plus a nod to Steve Reich. Stripped backbeats, hypnotic looped arpeggiated piano, minimal strings and arps make this a standout house track that is difficult to put in a category. Brilliant will just have to do.

Support Programme goes chuggy cosmic disco with sparkling analogue synths. The track twists and turns as distorted voices add to the trippiness. Equally at home in Berlin or on a Croatian beach, it's dance music for those who know.

The Alt Mix ramps up the arpeggiators on a techier take for deeper late night floors that is guaranteed to blow minds.

Keep On Moving stomps out of the gate with a relentless as heck bass line backed up by trippy synth stabs & chords that drives & drive you headfirst into the outer regions of your mind (and the dance floor).

Beat From The East goes down a slightly deeper route and is like a pitched down techno thumper which names up to its namesake with some pretty nifty far east style shenanigans in its breakdown which is ably assisted by some trusty piano stabs. Hooky as you like.a proper banger.

Suntime is defo the most psychedelic of this offering. Straight up peyote drenched style synths with plenty of those ace whirly style stabs amongst a lazy swung arp & rolling percussion work.

Broken Song closes off the party and is certainly the disco member of this family. Funky as heck bassline action with a warped up vocal stab fitting nicely around some cosmic-esque style synth work. Serious neck & head-nodding workout vibes.

It brings us a succulent track, "Another Dimension," with tense synths intertwined with a powerful beat that touches on the Detroit techno of a few decades ago but without losing that deep, Chicago-inspired flavor.
This time, remixing this project, we have another prominent 2phonic member, Teboho Nkone, who gives us a more abstract version with fat bass lines that will send those pads straight to your nervous system.

Paper has been pushing all things deep house and disco from the furthest reaches of the world via the good old North of England since the early Nineties.

The label has already featured a new series of EP's showcasing the best new dance music and future funk, house and disco from the world's finest producers.

We kicked off in 1994, leading the upsurge in popularity of UK house music within an underground scene previously dominated by a soundtrack from US cities like Chicago, Detroit and New York. Enhanced by a strong visual identity, as well as impeccable musical quality control PAPER was, and is one of the world’s most treasured record companies.

It continues to be funk-fuelled and bottom heavy!
