PJ: Tell us about this mix & where you want it to take people.
J: My mix is called Nuestra celebración es revolucionaria (our celebration is revolutionary) and I wanted to create a mix which moves from ambient to really hard latinx club, to translate different feelings that you can find within maricas/queer parties. I wanted to take people to the duality of what our celebrations can be, really hard and sexual and on the other hand a more tender and vulnerable vibe.

PJ: We're obsessed with all the projects you work on outside of music, can you tell us about some of them?
I’m a trans disciplinary artist, I used to organize a queer party in Quito which was legendary/revolutionary at the time. I currently have two brands where I’m a designer. The first one it’s called @atelier.UNSX which is an up cycled post gender fashion brand I co-founded with my sister. The second one is a jewelry brand called @j0yas where I work with an artisan, I design and he builds the pieces 🙃.

PJ: What's the Quito music scene like?
The music scene in Quito was growing a lot prepandemic and right now it’s trying to survive haha but for sure you can find really good producers from here that will blow your mind away

PJ: Do you think Shakira is a natural blonde?
Damn no, I can see shakira roots from here
