PJ: Tell us about this mix & where you want it to take people.
M: I want my music to make people feel something. If it makes them dance, it makes them dance. If it makes them cry, even better. Whether it touches the soul, the mind or just the feet, as long as you feel the rhythm, I’m happy.
PJ: How do you feel this time away from nightlife will impact our industry in the future?
M: I honestly think it will make everyone way more appreciative of all the people who work in the nightlife and provide entertainment that we have ALL taken for granted for the longest time. Clubbing through a screen sucks ass. You’re just drunk, half naked in your living room dancing all alone: nobody aspires to that! The folks are definitely hungry AF for a good rave. Let’s get back to normal asap pleeeease!! 
PJ: Your IG bio says “you don’t pop xanax anymore.” Can we ask why?
M: Like many other Gen Z, I went through a xanny phase that really fucked me up. Around 2016-17, benzos, Xanax more precisely, were very popular and new to the “scene”. I was hooked for a year or so and can barely tell you what was happening as chewing bars was the essential step of morning and bedtime routine. I can not pinpoint why I was so attracted to this drug, but I was and maybe still am. Although, I was young and still am, at least now I am aware that outrunning reality will not erase the pain and that it will surely catch up eventually. Yet, I would be lying if I said that numbing was not fun. I’m just glad that I got out of that dark ass downward spiral. The reason I have it in my bio is because I used to publicly embarrass myself alot (like everyone knew that I was a fiend); so I have to let everyone know that I’m not that girl anymore. I’m a different kind of mess now, a hotter mess 💅🏾
