Shaped by UK club culture, B E N N builds high-tension sets where raw percussion from Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East crash into the stark contours of deconstructed club. His selections are both ritualistic and mechanical—built for bodies, but laced with friction. From Rinse FM and NTS to BigSound, Bukolica, and SYNERGY Festival, his sound has carved a path through clubs and festivals across Asia, Europe, and Australia.
Based in Taipei, B E N N is also the founder of Over My Body—a label and platform pushing boundary-breaking dance experiments from the region. A longtime ally of GLOWBALL, he contributed to Sea Cucumber’s FINAL compilation under Tzusing’s curation, and claimed the StreetVoice Music Trend Award for "Hakka Drums"—a jagged, reverberating ode to ancestral memory and diasporic tension.

D.C. native Ovid returns to Cork imprint Flood for a third time with his latest EP, ‘The Palace’. 

A follow on from 2022’s ‘Stone Coaster’, the New York based artist returns to form with his uncompromising hybrid of funky and hard drum across 4 original tracks, plus a further remix from Shai FM on ‘Crawl Out’.

The release also sees Flood founders Doubt and Tension collaborate with Ovid for a second time on ‘The Palace Pt. 2’, reigniting a three-way collision of sharp, forward facing club drum. 

Our featured premiere, ‘North From Here’, blurs the lines between mechanical and traditional sounds, fizzing with industrial melodies and effects alongside anthemic percussive builds and foundations.

tripes is a student of various genres, but draws particular inspiration from new wave of DIY young dancehall artists in Mauritius. He pushes “Limerence” away from its dancehall skeleton and gives it a much heavier beat that layers in his signature deep and wavy sound. Watch out for his forthcoming EP on Paradoxe Club soon.

Dave Quam takes “Full Break” and breaks it down into a lush Frusciante-esque primordial soup. I would recommend listening while in a bathtub with all the lights off on mushrooms. Creaked Records gear up to issue their latest double vinyl album release from Swiss producer Nic As Well, previously known under the moniker Lemonick...Our pick from the album is ‘Tickler‘. Opening with precision-drilled drum patterns threaded through a maze of tension-charged frequencies, Nic As Well drags the audience in a Gqom-tinged dimension, ready to be blasted in a jam-packed yard in the townships of Alexandra. As the track unfolds, a maelstrom of stomping kicks collides with FX-warped screams, ending in a cyber aftershock that remains forever like a planetary memory.

Conceived as part of an A/V show with visual artist Nicolò Cervello, ‘Kitbashing’ marks ABADIR’s third album for SVBKVLT.

A growing number of people spend an extensive amount of time watching, scrolling, liking, commenting on and sharing content, whilst at the same time feeding a constant stream of personal data to social media platforms. Social media can be fun and informative, or draining and dark. Either way, their algorithms are purposefully designed to lock users in a continuous state of scrolling. The more time spent online, the more desires, interests and emotions are fed into the algorithm for consumerist ends and reality is reduced to a timeline of curated aesthetics.

Using audio snippets from reels, suggested posts, and sponsored ads, sound objects are cut, micro-edited and meshed together into a collage. Tension is built gradually before falling into a release. Rhythms keep expanding and contracting, simulating the pace of random scrolling on mobile devices. ‘Kitbashing’ is an attempt to break the algorithm: subverting the dynamics by feeding on the algorithm instead of only feeding it.
