DJ DIE SOON ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM AND SHARES ‘UNFINISHED’ FT. KIKI HITOMI & FRANCO FRANCO
‘MY BROTHEL THE WIND’ IS SET FOR RELEASE ON 25TH JULY

DJ DIE SOON is the apocalyptic alter-ego Daisuke Imamura, whose performances of masked malice have been a fixture in the Berlin underground for the past decade. Announced today alongside its first single, upcoming record 'My Brothel The Wind' takes inspiration from Sun Ra at his most grotesque, conjuring a distorted phantasmagoria with an eclectic crew of compatriots like Rully Shabara, Sara Persico, and longtime collaborator Kiki Hitomi.

Out today, first single ‘Unfinished' is a pulsating chimera featuring animalistic vocals from Kiki Hitomi of Ninja Tune bass explorers King Midas Sound, with Italian MC Franco Franco’s verses snaking underneath the noisy onslaught:

'My Brothel The Wind' shows DJ DIE SOON as an alchemist of distortion, transmuting the club-forward beats of his 2020 debut Kappa Slap and the seething horrorscapes of DIEMAJIN, his 2022 collaboration with Tokyo vocalist MA. Imamura’s obsession with noise stems from his upbringing in Tokyo, where he grew up hearing the deafening roar of trains every day. “The buildings were really tall, so the sounds reflected so much and it was so loud that you couldn’t even have a conversation on the phone. Hearing this noise every minute when living in this flat, it became a normal thing,” he says. While most would content themselves with avoiding loudness, DJ DIE SOON seeks to unpack its visceral potential.

While Sun Ra’s intergalactic Moog reached for the stars, DJ DIE SOON plunges into the depths of hell. Rather than a vision of the future, 'My Brothel The Wind' is a laugh-cry of despair in the face of a Hadean present. DJ DIE SOON confronts the world with a new hand-made mask, reborn in the ashes. Film director Hiroo Tanaka’s visual contributions in the album art, poster, and music video complete the album’s narrative, telling a story not of villainy but of phantom caprice in a dying world.

Hiiro Issiki’ s "Tannins" is a 6-track mini-album that blends immersive ambient, cinematic dance music, and techno, crafted with minimal repetition to shape an environmental soundscape. It is inspired by movie soundtracks and emotional atmospheres, it merges ecstatic expression with meditative stillness, questioning modern society through deep, unshaped sound waves and abrupt noises.

The songs on the album are the result of a number of factors, but the emotion is consistently sad and dark. The songs have what is known in Japanese as a “fragility”. “儚さʼʼ (Hakanasa)

Sabi, using grains, ethereal sad voices and Noise Bigbeat, is a pulsating techno piece with a raw, industrial edge. It captures the fleeting beauty of decay and inviting movement with its hypnotic beats.

While in town to perform with Slagwerk, Paris-based DJ Vendredear returns to Kiosk to treat you with a polyrythmic, genrebending, melodic summer mix. Expect their signature blend of melody and drama through the sound of contemporary electronics.

Conceived as part of an A/V show with visual artist Nicolò Cervello, ‘Kitbashing’ marks ABADIR’s third album for SVBKVLT.

A growing number of people spend an extensive amount of time watching, scrolling, liking, commenting on and sharing content, whilst at the same time feeding a constant stream of personal data to social media platforms. Social media can be fun and informative, or draining and dark. Either way, their algorithms are purposefully designed to lock users in a continuous state of scrolling. The more time spent online, the more desires, interests and emotions are fed into the algorithm for consumerist ends and reality is reduced to a timeline of curated aesthetics.

Using audio snippets from reels, suggested posts, and sponsored ads, sound objects are cut, micro-edited and meshed together into a collage. Tension is built gradually before falling into a release. Rhythms keep expanding and contracting, simulating the pace of random scrolling on mobile devices. ‘Kitbashing’ is an attempt to break the algorithm: subverting the dynamics by feeding on the algorithm instead of only feeding it.
