Behind the Mirror

Parallaxiom's history began in early 2013, when guitarist and medical student Chris Newland, met drummer Adam Schneider, the husband of one of his colleagues. The two had originally planned to meet up casually to play cover songs, but they quickly recognized their strong musical compatibility and shared interest for creating original music.

Once realizing that they were on to something special, they convinced Chris's wife Marina Newland, a classically trained violinist, to join the band as their bassist. 

The three agreed that they wanted more out of their music than simple, gimmicky arrangements of notes and melodies. They shared a strong desire to create music that not only sounded amazing, but that had enough depth, substance and emotion to reflect the complexity of life; a complexity experienced by all, yet one that is unique onto each individual. Thus, Parallaxiom was born.
