I know that music can neither heal nor prevent the decades-long existing global sick capitalism, consumption, politics, lobbyism, corruption, systems, society/s that are sick of it, nor the imminent climate collapse resulting from all these causes. But what it can heal and fill up wonderfully I know: hearts and souls - even empty, cracked, damaged and discarded ones. And that completely free of charge. Unbelievable nowadays...what is also clear: we will never be enough people to be able to break the capitalist climate-damaging sick system globally in time, now it has been really too late for too many years gone by. I live against this system as far as my framework as a system-dependent taxpayer allows me to do so. Music is an enormously important part of it. We should tune in together to the inevitable real climate collapse. With happy hearts & souls filled to the brim with music, contentment & love. Only then will the demise of our livelihoods be bearable for us all.

War, natural disasters, politics, violence, protests, riots, injustices, attacks, terror and much more. Back then, compared to today, it was all relatively completely unfiltered, clean and completely free of any media and political fake news manipulation and twisted propaganda. All the  pseudo massiv CAPITALISTIC problems, much more its numerous symptoms of illness such as "burn outs", "social media", "depression", "shortage of skilled labour", "housing shortage", with manipulation, fake news, advertising, capitalistic, political influence soaked "media", or topics such as "urban gardening", "gentrification", immigration, all that "self-love, self-worth, what is happiness, the search for the self" madness, "gender", LGBT, "metoos". ... didn't exist back then or were healthy, normal, simple, clean. And yes, people's worries and fears back then were the same as now, just as real, normal, simple BUT FREE from any capitalist distortion, self-promotion, exaggerated and inflated hyperbubbles. Without the very large, constantly spreading epidemic of capitalism, there would probably be less than 40%? of all these problems on our planet, and a global negative climate collapse would never have been an issue. Religion does not affect our climate alone, but in numerous religious political disputes harms people beside climate, nature and all living creatures the most.

Hi, I'm Jake a 56 year old music addict and drug fiend who is finally starting to see the error of his ways!!! (too late now and no room for regrets!) And by Error of my ways, I mean I can see how I've ruined the taking of certain drugs by abusing them! So now they no longer work properly! For people who have never taken drugs, I suggest you start NOW! It's a Spiritual thing, You have to Expand your mind to accommodate the knowledge that will set you free! If you are good at meditating, then that will do as good, if not better, I'm shit at meditating! So it's drugs for me!  It's all about truth, and don't be fooled into thinking you can learn this by reading it in a book or listening to someone speaking about it, YOU CAN'T,  It must come from within your self,  A Realisation, Only then will You know the Truth! 
I got into Punk around 1982 and not long after discovered Hardcore Punk, around 1993 I finally allowed myself to get into Rave and then got into mixing.
I got into Oldskool Hardcore and Jungle when I turned 50! better late than never I suppose. haha

Fuelled by foundation jungle culture. Moved by the melting pot Driven by futurism, eclecticism and those exciting playgrounds between the genres, the eras and the flavours; Yorobi’s been deep the laboratory since 99, forever studying the dark art of expression through beats and bass. 
Magnetised to the movement through her own mixed heritage roots, her musical vision is one of unity, fusion and no boundaries. Whether it’s released on heavily respected labels like Exit and Parallax; whether it’s performed at nights such as Rupture London and clubs like OT301 Amsterdam (or any inclusive free rave in between); where it’s broadcast on radio stations like innovative new radio platform Echobox or the legendary Jungletrain where she made a name for herself in the mid-2000s; Yorobi’s selections and productions consistently create space for tempos, emotions and genres to blur and mutate with tension and release.
Slowly refining her sound and spirit since she first cut her teeth in the underground clubs and pirate stations of Groningen, Yorobi’s long-game relationship with the culture has grown in tandem with her artistic life beyond the beats. A multi-disciplinary artist and well-versed art historian and tour guide, Yorobi (real name Josje Bijl) has spent her entire adult life cultivating, exploring, celebrating and documenting centuries of creativity and the cultural contexts that frame and fuel it. 
Now fully focused on articulating this wealth of experience through her music, productions are a critical piece in the puzzle. Years of studio incubation have led to an ongoing flow of productions that began in 2019 and refuses to stop to this day. From collaborations with the likes of Tim Reaper and Sun People to solo productions released on labels such as Repertoire and Pollination, Yorobi releases reflect everything that’s come before and what she wants to see in years to come. Her studies continue to this day…
