After a year of not playing in clubs, this summer gives a pinch of new freedom with most venues re-opening.

The beautiful port city at the coast of Morocco is where they start their series 'A Day In'. The first episode was part of MOGA creation, a collaborative project with electronic artists and traditional Moroccan musicians. In the sacred Medina of Essaouira, they fused Gnawa music with their electronic sounds together with Maalem Omar Hayat and his crotales players. A performance that was repeated live at Moga Festival, and was captured in a 2-track EP 'Essaouira'

Oh that Friday... That day was pure magic... A full day of adventurous situations, from grooving with a jazz band, to the wedding of our Lebanese friends, to the most beautiful sunset oft he week, to the little house burn, to the loving atmosphere in our camp, to the big Clan burn and the sky filled with red stars, we directly headed to one of our highlight on Afrika Burn in the Arkology stage. It was literally the perfect day. What a day, what a crowd, what an energy, the rest is history... <3

The Cosmic Escape VI

The story of the track starts with our father and his collection of vinyl.

One day, it takes out Atom Heart Mother album, puts it on the vinyl player, side one, 23 minutes of pure bliss... We fell in love with the mixture of the choir, the horns and the beautiful orchestration touch of Pink Floyd, especially that one part that had such a groove, we had to remix it.
After spending quite some time in the studio, we let it hear to our dad, and he approved! Yes, mission accomplished!

A Monday like no other... After 9 hours wait to enter, we cruised the playa for the first time, we joined our Gardens of Babylon family for their welcoming party in Bang Bang, with so many familiar faces and friends, we directly felt at home! 
We then hoped on Maxa Camp's magical Deer art car, and drove toward Bang Bang, all of a sudden the party became a moving party, so many colourful bikes were following, we were completely mesmerized, it was the first time we played for a moving dancefloor! Until we reached the playa and then the crowd just didn't stop getting more colourful, more lights, more vibe. It literally was out of this world. 
What a welcome to Burning Man <3 !

One particular day will be engraved in our mind, it was the day when the Peacocks met the Cobra, we were kept under his spell and could not stop dancing with each other from day till dawn. 

The dusty Afrikaburn showed us the way where art is the getaway.

One year ago, Charles Aznavour passed. This has been quite a shock for us, since our french grandma made us learn all of his songs by heart. 
He has been such a big inspiration for our youth, that we decided to remix one of his songs "Les Deux Guitares" as a commemoration of his subtle poetry that crafted the "Variété Française" for such a long time.

This last October, together with Maalem Omar Hayat and his crotales players, we performed a show combining Gnawa music infused with electronic music. Creating bridges between tradition and modernity, an image of the synergies of cultures. An initiative from Moga Festival, called Moga Creation.

The film features a new and exclusive track “A Day In Essaouira”, a sound immersion into the life of Essaouira which is release on Klassified Bandcamp and profits will go to the Associations Yerma Gnaoua and Issaouas in order to help Moroccan traditional musicians and their families to overcome the CV19 crisis.

With this ambitious new project, we have taken our musical venture even further by discovering different cultures, tribes and their specific sounds. This episode is the first one of the video series “A Day In” where we translate, through field recordings, a specific culture, city or country. It is said that “Music is the universal language” and Parallells aims to show how it connects people as well as showing the world’s beauty and uses music as a force for change.

Thomas and Julien are Dutch brothers from South of France. They propose either Hybrid DJ or live acts cutting from Jazz, Techno, House and melodic mixing several genres while keeping this uplifting, dirty and groovy feel. 

Passionates in authentic sounds, they produce their music through field recordings. Their video concept "A Day In” translates cultures through field recordings and collaborations with local and traditional musicians. They already have concluded first collaborations with Gnawa musicians in Morocco, Huichol tribe musicians in Mexico, Icelandic choir, and musicians from Osaka, Bengalor, Fiji Island, Bangkok and more. 

With releases on Crosstown Rebels, DGTL, Sapiens, Bar 25 and their own imprint, Klassified Records, the two brothers also run the Klassified Studios, a co-creative space in Amsterdam.
