Silk Music Showcase 476 - A.M.R Guest Mix

A path meanders steadily into the golden meadow...all possible futures lie ahead...

A long-time favourite in his native country, Gadi Mitrani has been representing the Turkish underground with esteem since he first burst onto the scene over 15 years ago. A unique and prodigious talent, Mitrani’s ceaseless love for all things electronic music has led to some of the scene’s most hallowed and celebrated dancefloors. A true visionary, he was one of the first to notice the potential of Turkey’s electronic music scene — and as such is deemed an influential figure to many of the country’s fledgling electronic music producers.

Famed for his signature deep, tech and prog-heavy sets, Mitrani is a DJ notable for his versatility and a man who’s more than able to chop it up with the best of them. In 2015 he debuted on Kompakt KX courtesy of ‘Key of Stillness’, a suitably momentous cut that introduced Mitrani to a whole new audience and duly elevated his status within the global electronic music process. Supported by well-known DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and Powel, it’s a true gem in a discography that’s littered with highlights.

The last few years have been equally fruitful for Mitrani. Now a firm fixture in some of the globe’s best-known labels, he’s repped everyone from Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas, Lee Burridge & Hoj’s Tale & Tone to Maurice Aymard’s Galaktika over past while, with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Khen, Gabriel Ananda and ‪Danny Howells‬ all regularly supporting his music in their sets. Production duties aside, Mitrani has also shared the stage with the likes of Guy J, &Me, Michael Mayer, Guy Mantzur, Patrice Baumel, Rampa and Jeremy Olander. Aside from appearing alongside the latter list, he’s also rocked stages recently in Ibiza as well as at Off Sonar and Burning Man: proof if needed that this is a man currently on a fierce upward trajectory.

Gadi has some really incredible future releases in store - keep your eyes peeled and your ears perked.

The rāga saga acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all across, Each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "color the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this journey (raga) comes from the shamanic lands of Costa Rica from one of my favourite artists @jose-solano 

He recorded this set for me, a while back but I wanted it to be a special release, so as something new has taken form...

Jose Solano is a musician, composer and producer born in San Jose Costa Rica in 1980, at the age of 16 he starts his first steps in music exploring with his first keyboards, he studies piano at Yamaha Music School with Professor Jesús Castro, he studies singing with the famous Soprano Amelia Barquero (Franco de Vita, Ricardo Montaner) I work as a keyboardist with the renowned soloist Esteban Calderón. He has shared the stage with important national and foreign artists such as the Spanish Rusian Red, the Colombian Fonseca, and the Mexicans Jessy and Joy.

The set was recorded on my show on Monday, the 11th at Four Seasons Costa Rica, the selection of my new songs on Lump Records and Bercana Music, and other songs from producers that I admire.
(Elfenberg, Rapossa, Stefka Sobotinova, Valeron, Christian Löffer, Rasi Z)sending a message of love and peace.

If you look up the meaning of today’s cocktail name, Woo Woo, in the dictionary, you might think we’re a bit “woo woo”. But, don’t worry, we’re not into any mambo jambo here at Schirmchendrink. We just feel spring is on its way and wanted to serve you some really sweet stuff.

Having established himself as a staple in the Canadian electronic music scene, as one half of “Nature of Music”, Mazi has embarked on a new solo journey called “Alfa State“. With releases under Seven Villas and Sudbeat, collaborations with Tigerskin and Pablo Bolivar, Alfa state has created a footprint for his authentic thought-provoking sound.

For his Woo Woo, Mazi did not stick to one genre and plays songs across the board, softer and harder. Don’t know how you feel about it, but I was catapulted back to my early days in house music while listening to this set…some music just never gets old!!

For the 4th instalment of our Do Not Sit podcast series , we welcome UK based duo Fluida.  
Their breadth of sound connects deeply with people both in the early evening and at those special moments in the early hours of the morning.
Fluida’s unique live/DJ set continues to set them apart, incorporating the steel pan ‘hang drum’ featured on many of their tracks. This live instrument in the DJ booth offers a unique energy and an immediate connection with the audience.
The pair regularly share their eclectic tastes through radio slots on Bloop London and Ibiza Sonica Radio  and naturally we are proud to have yet another mix to deliver from these lovely gents!

Und ob du willst oder nicht, es wird wieder nach dir rufen. Du schnappst dir erneut deine Habseligkeiten, bereißt das nächste Ziel, solange bis du alles gesehen hast. Dann beginnt das Spiel von vorn, weil die Welt sich dreht.

Thomas and Julien are Dutch brothers from South of France. They propose either Hybrid DJ or live acts cutting from Jazz, House & Techno  mixing several genres while keeping this uplifting, dirty and groovy feel. 

Passionates in authentic sounds, they produce their music through field recordings. Their video concept "A Day In” translates cultures through field recordings and collaborations with local and traditional musicians. They already have concluded first collaborations with Gnawa musicians in Morocco, Huichol tribe musicians in Mexico, Icelandic choir, and musicians from Osaka, Bengalor, Fiji Island, Bangkok and more. 

With releases on Crosstown Rebels, DGTL, Sapiens, Bar 25 and their own imprint, Klassified Records, the two brothers also run the Klassified Studios, a co-creative space in Amsterdam.
