Silk Music Showcase 476 - A.M.R Guest Mix

A path meanders steadily into the golden meadow...all possible futures lie ahead...

A long-time favourite in his native country, Gadi Mitrani has been representing the Turkish underground with esteem since he first burst onto the scene over 15 years ago. A unique and prodigious talent, Mitrani’s ceaseless love for all things electronic music has led to some of the scene’s most hallowed and celebrated dancefloors. A true visionary, he was one of the first to notice the potential of Turkey’s electronic music scene — and as such is deemed an influential figure to many of the country’s fledgling electronic music producers.

Famed for his signature deep, tech and prog-heavy sets, Mitrani is a DJ notable for his versatility and a man who’s more than able to chop it up with the best of them. In 2015 he debuted on Kompakt KX courtesy of ‘Key of Stillness’, a suitably momentous cut that introduced Mitrani to a whole new audience and duly elevated his status within the global electronic music process. Supported by well-known DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and Powel, it’s a true gem in a discography that’s littered with highlights.

The last few years have been equally fruitful for Mitrani. Now a firm fixture in some of the globe’s best-known labels, he’s repped everyone from Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas, Lee Burridge & Hoj’s Tale & Tone to Maurice Aymard’s Galaktika over past while, with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Khen, Gabriel Ananda and ‪Danny Howells‬ all regularly supporting his music in their sets. Production duties aside, Mitrani has also shared the stage with the likes of Guy J, &Me, Michael Mayer, Guy Mantzur, Patrice Baumel, Rampa and Jeremy Olander. Aside from appearing alongside the latter list, he’s also rocked stages recently in Ibiza as well as at Off Sonar and Burning Man: proof if needed that this is a man currently on a fierce upward trajectory.

2019 has already been a huge year for White Leaf. In January alone, his impressive label imprint, Sag & Tre, released a powerful Various Artist compilation (Tracks: White Lead/Hosini Remix, DOTB, Savvas, Fulltone, DSF, LØC/Innsæi, and more), and he was also featured most recently on the Magician On Duty Two Year Anniversary compilation. Canopy Sounds could't be any happier catching this hot artist in this moment.

His music has a charming & light feel to it, while focusing on touching harmonies, that fade in and out throughout his productions. White Leaf is passionate about his little boutique label he often calls the orchard - based on the imagery surrounding the label. With his EP coming soon dropping on David Hohme's Where The Heart Is, his recent remix on Silk Music and a recent single on Magician On Duty affirm White Leaf's position as someone to keep an eye out for.

With Manchester being his home ground now, White Leaf’s name was made up randomly - quite conversely to his decision of becoming a producer/DJ. Besides producing, White Leaf likes time out under the sun, aimless imagining of the beach and a fine drink with friends.

Belgian based Dj and producer Mike Tohr started his musical adventure back in 2008. As a DJ Mike always tries to create a story, he will take you on a trip of deep-melodic and progressive music.

Mike Tohr has played in the best Belgian clubs like Fuse, Ampere, Labyrinth club, Vaag and has played on the famous Diynamic stage at Tomorrowland! Today Mike has already shared the decks with name’s like Stephan Bodzin, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Recondite, Hunter/Game and many more.

With a love for nature he often takes his recording equipment with him into the woods. Here he records samples that he uses to create his own unique organic sound.

Thanks to a continuous search for improvement, Mike Tohr has released on different international labels such as Einmusika, (Einmusik’s label), Tale & Tone (Lee burridge’s Label), Subjekt, Atmosphere records And many more.

Pandhora, a French duo, represents a symbiosis of syncopated rhythms and psychedelic melodies. Inspired by 70’s progressive and psychedelic music, they mix deep electronica music with synths and throbbing guitar riffs. Thanks to their experimentiveness and their incredible creativity, Pandhora enable the audience a unique electronic dance music experience. 

The project is the artistic symbiosis of two musicians who wish to bring sounds that occupied their thoughts back alive. Referring to their style as “Deep Psychedelica”, they always seek for new sonorities and therefore often invite other musicians to join them. Their mission is to create an original universe for each of their productions and performances. 

And we are enormously happy they took their credo to another level in their exclusive Psychedelic Vodkarita for Schirmchendrink: it features live guitar & synths. And, for the first time, it also includes live vocals in the intro of this sensational mix. 

Have a sip and taste this dreamy and powerful gem, it is just a true piece of art. We are still astonished.

Having her roots in the ancient city of Istanbul, as a true nomad and free soul Elif’s wings brought her reputation already exceeding the thriving dance culture of her home city and made her a regular selector at top venues both locally and internationally, as she delivers her unique blend of synthesized and organic sounds. 

As a new addition to Altitude Agency’s roaster, a regular at The Gardens Of Babylon community, she has venues like Kater Blau, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Schimanski, Deep Like, and Velvet under her belt, and the future looks even brighter as her name is on the highly anticipated Anjunadeep Exploration festival’s bill this summer. 

She reveals a musical taste that is unafraid to go in the dark territories as much as upbeat anthems as she’s unafraid to experiment with modern sounds, while also displaying an appreciation for more conventional instrumentation. Her style is characterized by raw percussion that creates a relentless groove, combined with melody carried by both electronic and acoustic instruments to achieve an atmosphere which highlights her roots in the ancient city of Istanbul in a contemporary fashion.

With meticulously prepared podcasts for Anjunadeep Edition, When We Dip, Deep House Vancouver she grew her online audience to reputable numbers and she's already considered amongst international globetrotting storytellers, capable of adjusting her sound to any given time and space coordinates.

Energy levels range from relaxed to raging, the way in which Elif moves between the two demonstrating her understanding of the necessity of diversity throughout a set, as well as her technical skill in creating mixes that progress in an exceptionally smooth and gradual way. 

As a strong female figure in the conservative society she grew up in, she even has a TEDx talk under her belt amongst other numerous online content for inspiring her generation. But this is just the beginning. She’s keen to inspire and touch more and for that, she’s spending more time in her studio and carefully connecting to her inner self to reveal emotions to express with music. We can anticipate more stories told in depth as she’s already in progress of cooking her own tunes to share with the world very soon.
