I just came across 2020's Flux and Contemplation by Simon Posford which is now in regular rotation for calming my mind. Not a jam per se, but a real absorbing journey.

Sandals for now, but when they finally lose contain, maybe jandals.

ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD?
This mix ended up with a bittersweet melancholia about it. It feels like saying goodbye to a dear friend who’s going away for a long time.

Born a Kiwi but raised in the UK, Suno was brought up on a sultry diet of John Peel, Hip-hop and his Mother’s Motown collection. Buying and spinning since the heady-housey days of 1987 he has a wide taste for all things suitably nod-worthy; from deep disco basslines, classic electro and assorted 4/4 acid driven antics. 

Apart from speaking about himself in the third person, Suno runs an independent non-profit radio station called Planet Sauce out of Auckland, NZ. Celebrating all things underground it has a growing global audience, supported by some amazing musical talent. Music matters.

In a few short years Tina Mairi has progressed from her personal project of mixing two songs every day for 100 days in a row to emerge as a passionate and highly regarded wahine of Auckland underground house and techno.

Versatile, intuitive and a keen dancer herself, Tina applies her affinity for harmony and rhythm to each individual dance floor with the intention of transmitting a pure, joyful and transformative experience.

For almost 20 years, James Steer has consistently and unassumingly contributed to the after-hours soundtrack of Melbourne. Well respected within the underground Melbourne DJ community, James has built a reputation as a selector who deftly balances exquisite taste with technical execution. James cut his teeth as one of the founders of the legendary Deep Chord Melbourne parties in the early noughties, showcasing the emerging deep minimal sounds of the time to an eager and receptive audience. The party started off as an intimate affair in the confines of the upstairs space of Pony Bar (later Boney), before finding a true home in the legendary basement space of the Mercat Cross. Since then, James has regularly graced the decks at some of Melbourne’s most iconic nightspots, equally adept at delivering funk and disco laden suppertime soundtracks as heaving excursions into deep dance floor dynamics. Drawing from a vast, genre-defying collection, James’ sets offer the listener/dancer a guided tour through the fundamentals of depth, always evolving and never stagnant, a glimpse into the now, with a respectful nod to what’s come before.
