'#PlasticFreeParty is a collection of conscientious, green-hearted tunes from some of our favourite artists, all brought together to highlight the incredible work being done by our friends at Bye Bye Plastic, the disruptive nonprofit working to eliminate single-use plastics in the music industry and restore Earth balance. The album will be officially launched at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with a party organised in collaboration with Levantine House in the luxurious W Amsterdam on release day, Thursday 20th October. A world- first, ground-breaking non-vinyl physical version of the album is also in the works.

Curated by Parisian DJ duo Chambord and released on BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label, #PlasticFreeParty brings together 14 new tracks from artists like BLOND:ISH, Shiba San, Vander & Deer Jade, Urmet K, Zigan Aldi and Chambord themselves. 100% of the album’s profits will be forwarded to the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation, enabling them to increase their visibility and message. 

Chambord explained how the compilation came to fruition; “In 2020, we worked with Bye Bye Plastic for our first live performance in France. During this time, we gathered a group of friends and associates to create fundraising for this cause and have been working together ever since. We met with Camille from the BBP foundation, and together with Blond:ish we decided to create a music compilation to raise funds. Together we can hopefully achieve our goals and make a difference.”'

The Italian-born, Germany based artist is highly regarded for his distinctive style and musical depth. microCastle’s masterstroke has been to engage Love over Entropy to repattern ‘Ortygia’. Motivated by the ideology of early Detroit pioneers and experimental IDM, his musical creations are renowned for being hypnotic and atmospheric, with a tender touch, juxtaposing an obsessive attention to detail with space, chaos and chance. As a result the Dutch artist has found a home on taste-maker labels such as Something Happening Somewhere, Lossless and Atomnation. Here he builds a deeply brooding, melodic, percussive masterpiece, and the resultant tension is palpable as his re-imagining of ‘Ortygia’ sparks with eruptive bursts of fizzing energy. A stunning remix on every level, and it is no wonder that he is beloved by such heavyweights as Dixon, Mano Le Tough, Âme and Laurent Garnier.
