The sounds of _semi_ or  cicadas is one of the most famous sounds in Japan.  Here we hear the chirp of the insects along with birds and crowds at Ginkaku-ji in Kyoto.

Nishiki tenmangu is in the heart of the Teramachi shopping strip in Kyoto. It is a busy place, people dropping in off the shopping strip to make a small offering.

The Art Of Hanging Around

Dusk in the tall coastal forests near Myrtle Beach in Murramarang National Park, NSW, Australia. On this evening the Kookaburra's and Mole Crickets created a wonderful droning symphony.
Murramarang is located in the South Coast region of NSW, a region known for it's stunning beauty, rich forests and beautiful quiet. I sometimes went hours without hearing planes/cars, etc. a real rarity in this day and age. 
It's a place where you can feel remote and at peace. I miss it a lot.
Recorded on the 30th of March, 2015.
My deepest respect to the rightful owners of this land, the Yuin people, past and present, who used to live and roam across this beautiful place.
