Beloved for their combination of groove and melody, NuFects return to Clubsonica for their much-anticipated debut EP. Conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects, quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente. Also finding a place in the more melodic uptempo realms of the genre, legends Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone became NuFects supporters, playlisting their music and making the duo a legit crossover act. Nufects now makes a welcome return to the label for their debut EP 'Wild | Sordina', alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and Sebastian Sellares. 

Destined to be a highlight in Nufects discography, it is the melodic stylings of 'Wild' which get the release underway. Electrically charged from the outset, its rolling rhythmic structures, striking electronics and character rich groove set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Euphoric chord stabs and haunting atmospheres rise across the first act, carrying momentum and mood into the main break. Acid-like lines delight across the centrepiece, eventually melting down to the duo's symphonic motifs, as flurries of drums and rising sonics unite for a tasteful crescendo and cosmic finale. The companion piece finds NuFects collaborating with fellow countryman Jab Vix. Together the trio masterfully synthesize their talents into one singular progressive vision that is 'Sordina'. Continuing the groove-centric vibes of its predecessor, the trio let's lush vocal elements and reflective chord stabs descend over perfectly carved basslines and flashing percussive arrangements for the ultimate mid-set style groover. 

Providing the interpretation of 'Wild' is Juan Deminicis. As a favourite of progressive music's top tastemakers in Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J, the Argentinean artist has released on some of the genre's finest imprints over the course of his now fifteen year career. Hoomidas, Lost and Found, Replug, Souksonic and Sudbeat Music have all been regular landing spots for the talented Buenos Aires resident. With three remixes for the label across the last five calendar years, Juan makes a welcome return to Clubsonica, taking 'Wild' into deeper territory. Rather than burst into a dancefloor whirlwind or electronic symphony, Juan's interpretation evokes its emotions through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing its conceptual charm, painting idyllic scenes of solitude, as hypnagogic motifs unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Argentine's progressive attitude reveals itself during a second act of driving grooves, haunting atmospheres and cosmic effects. 

Providing the interpretation of 'Sordina' is Sebastian Sellares. UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Antrim's Or Two Strangers, Cid Inc's Replug Records and GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile have all served as landing spots for the Argentine's beloved sound, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have been steadfast supporters along the way. Sebastian now makes his Clubsonica debut with a gorgeous take on 'Sordina'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Argentinean artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, a spirited journey into an atmospheric hinterland, where rolling basslines and emotive melodies surface from their progressive architecture, onwards to a finale of chugging grooves and hopeful overlays. A heartfelt interpretation from Sebastian, which rounds out a must have EP from NuFects, an artist duo who continues to impress and emerge from Colombia's electronic music landscape.

Aura, the eleventh volume of the Renascent series, presents 5 fascinating original mixes from the heart of incredible international talents such as Amir Telem (Israel), Tojogo (UK), Ari Fernan (Argentina), Markus Swarz (Germany) and CTP (France).

Renascent is a series of Various Artists releases all focused on the dance floor of daytime parties. The names included along the way are largely emerging and exciting producers from all over the world who are being welcomed into Cigarette Music home for the first time. Each Act is roughly out along every spring and autumn and is followed by a devoted re-mix release, where the concerning original tracks are revised by selected known international producers according to their style.

Renascent Aura

PREMIERE: Ari Fernan - Easyday [Cigarette Music]

A new artist to the Particles roster, Amir Telem's music is not defined by genres, instead placing an emphasis on a "deep sense of connectivity to something higher". This approach has seen his work signed to a host of impressive imprints including UV Noir, Timeless Moment and Everything Will Be OK. His Particles debut opens with the title track as the popping percussive cadence provides the opportunity for a shimmering arpeggio and deep sustained bassline to shine on "Sweet Longing". A beautiful piano sequence adds to the melodic collage in emotive fashion before a brassy synth makes its play. Extending the melodic phrasing post-breakdown, a fizzing vibrant energy characterises the impressive piece.

An artist with a bold and growing reputation, BLANCAh continues to dazzle from her home in Florianópolis. Through her own Hiato Music and a wealth of tracks featuring on Timeless Moment, Sprout and 2020's full-length "Arias of Sky" for Renaissance", the Brazilian has flourished. A single remix for Petar Dundov marked BLANCAh's Proton Music debut as she joins Particles with a suitably powerful offering. Reworking "Sweet Longing", the BLANCAh rework creates a driving dancefloor groove with a syncopated bassline and fizzing top-line. Building in intensity, the melodic themes of the original are innovatively retained while extended outward in glorious new direction creating an elegant new remix.

Mariner + Domingo require little introduction; both excelling at their chosen artform. Renowned DJ's and producers, the pair have a rich history between them. Almost a double century of production credits bear witness to that fact as the US duo have seen their work feature on the likes of Sound Avenue, Balkan Connection and The Purr. Regulars on Particles, March 2021's "Azimuth" was followed by "Lose Control" two months later. Further bookended by remixes for Izzet and Petar Dundov, the pair now return with a typically deep and evocative remix of "Sweet Longing". Making strong use of the melancholic sustained bassline of the original, Mariner + Domingo have created a slightly more stripped back affair that revels in a deep atmosphere and sonic landscape. Making excellent use of Amir Telem's remix parts, an exquisite new chord progression is added to the production arrangement to create a sumptuous dancefloor gem.
