With a rapidly expanding portfolio, the "New Frequency" album represented a landmark moment in Cristian R's musical career. With a pair of remixes already released on Proton Music, Particles now returns to the album with remixes of its own from Spanish and Russian artists.

From the Spanish capital, Gonzalo Luque has carved out a sizeable reputation through his typically impressive production work. With a string of credits to his name and a Beatport number one to his name, it wasn't until he created his Soulwerk moniker, to "express his most intimate concept of electronic music", that Luque found himself causing a stir across the turntables of the global underground DJ community. After a 2011 debut for Whose Haus and the "Fraktals EP" on Cid Inc.'s Replug, a string of releases have found themselves allied to such notable imprints as Mirabilis, Perspectives Digital and Balkan Connection. Supported by heavyweights including Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha and Eelke Kleijn, the "Koncept" show on Proton Radio is a further vehicle for Soulwerk to demonstrate his impressive talents.

A regular on Proton Music, not least through his "Searching For You Through The Stars" and "Spiritcatcher" EPs, a single remix for Particles in the shape of Jorg Murcus' "The Taint of the Mirror" in 2012, is now joined by a deep and brooding "6 A.M Remix" of "Dust of Fairy". Retaining, the rhythmic prowess of the original, a cavernous bass line and set of effects-drenched washes, carry the Soulwerk rework in hypnotic and unrelenting fashion through its eight-minute voyage. Pausing temporarily for breath at the mid-point, a growing melange of sounds build once more to a rousing crescendo in a work that amply illustrates Soulwerk's wide-ranging talent.

A Moscow based musician, with a passion for the "darker side and the beauty of melodies", Artem Kalalb, is a relative newcomer to the underground dance scene with his distinctive style and sound that focuses on the "melancholy of ambient", combined with "deep techno grooves and rhythms". Following these guiding principles, Kalalb has seen his work featured on 238W, Stellar Fountain and Evocative, supported by the likes of Simos Tagias and Eve Falcon.

A regular on Particles, Artem Kalalb's debut saw an appearance on the "Spring Particles 2015" compilation, before the five-track "Limb" hit the shelves later that year. Remixes from Aeron Aether and Juan Astudillo followed before the three-track "Bicep" EP, in May 2017, once again showcased Kalalb's skill and technique. Now returning to follow up on 2015's LoQuai remix, the Artem Kalalb rerub of "Beach Rainbows" preserves the melodic foundations of Cristian R's original and treats them to a hypnotic, techno treatment that ripples and mesmerises through its unrelenting arpeggio. A tight, dominant kick, beats out a four-to-the-floor rhythm with rapid-fire hi-hats in tow as a warm bass riff continues the driving, metronomic feel to glorious effect.

New remixes from Soulwerk and Artem Kalalb keep Cristian R's "New Frequency" hitting all the right notes.

I use to work under High Tower Financial Services as well, a mega-corporation in the far future. I am trying to seek employment back into their ranks with revolutionary new ideas, but they don't like to listen to me.

My sister dyes her hair pink, likes sniper rifles, and enjoys teasing the ex-sol targets. She works for Diane Funeral Services in Europa somewhere. I'm trying to acquire some gear from her but she's very picky. She works for one of the best corporations in ol' Fortress, I have to trade them good contracts and make a penance on them at the same time. Intel is not cheap these days. 

I once envisioned working for the Fortress, but the reality of space-time travel scares me. I prefer to teach from the remoteness of the hills and sanctuaries off-world. If this doesn't make sense, then you'll know I'm getting creative :).
