Chris Luno & Exit Coda - Paradised

Welcoming a new artist to the Particles roster, Brann is a relative newcomer to the underground dance scene. Able to point to a growing collection of production credits on some of the finest modern imprints, One Of A Kind, Balkan Connection South America and Paul Hazendonk's MNL have all featured the Argentinean's music since a mid-2021 debut for Future Avenue. Now making his Particles debut, "Endless Moments" is an intricate rhythmic gem that bristles with percussive verve. Gradually introducing melodic elements, a delicate arpeggio combines with complementary chord progression by way of textured pads and gently pulsing waves of white noise. Building delicately through the breakdown to a subtle denouement, Brann expertly drops back into a dancefloor-friendly beat before familiar melodic characters take centre stage once more in the second half.

Michael A is a distinguished figure on the Particles and Proton Music labels. Responsible for almost a century of production credits across the two labels since a 2013 debut, 2014's "Behind the Moon" and 2017's "Sapphire" have both been notable Particles highlights. Remixes for GMJ, Derek Howell and Blanka Barbara in late 2021 further showcased the Belarusian's talents as Michael A now reworks "Endless Moments" with typical aplomb. Creating a deep and powerful interpretation, a strong bassline presence works alongside heavy kick and light rhythmic touch before familiar melodic phrases make their presence felt, especially at the stripped-back breakdown. Adding a swathe of new production material, the remix picks up dancefloor pace once again in the second half as the strong rhythm, delicate melody and bassline dominance combine post-breakdown to impressive effect.

Fellow Argentinean, Paul Deep is another artist who has consistently grown in stature and prominence through an increasing list of 24-carat gold productions. A regular on Dmitry Molosh's Proportion, GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Proton Music has also been a welcome recipient of the Buenos Aires resident's music, not least through September 2022's "Orchid" triptych and a remix of fellow countryman Juan Deminicis' "Cycles". Now debuting on Particles, the Paul Deep remix immediately creates dynamic tension with a striking bassline sequence and chest-thumping kick. Driving forward with relentless poise and precision, familiar elements from Brann's original gently reveal themselves. Entwined with a tract of new melodic elements from the Paul Deep studio, the blend of sonic ideas creates a hypnotic new take on "Endless Moments" that is sure to fill dancefloors across South America and beyond.

The lively dance begins solemnly with KOLLMORGEN’s deep-subtle minimal gem “Muddy”. Making her debut is the wonderful ARGIA with the somewhat misleading title ‘No Concept’ – the Madrid native indeed has a very precise plan. Also, our number one hit guarantor, JÜRGEN PAAPE, is represented here with his brand-new super hit ‘Alone In Italy’. His colleague MICHAEL MAYER is also in top disco spirits with ‘Talmi’. One of the secret weapons of the current season comes from STEPHAN BARNEM & FUTURISTANT. ‘Don’t Cry’ is a passionate New Wave belter for eternity. JÖRG BURGER proclaims a new, trippy genre: Cinematic Dance, before C.A.R. & PATRICE BÄUMEL slowly raise the energy level in the ‘Four Down’ Club Mix. JOHN TEJADA then cruises calmly at the desired cruising altitude while the cabin crew serves refreshments. ‘Duration’ by BARNT/MAYER pays tribute to an artist formerly known as Prince with grand rave romanticism, and about REX THE DOG’s summer smash hit ‘Change This Pain For Ecstasy’, there’s really nothing more to say. An artist who has spent his entire adult life working in the electronic music industry, Chris Zippel has been at the sharp end of the underground dance scene since the age of 15. Having worked with such illustrious stars as Robbie Williams, The Pet Shop Boys and Norah Jones, the Berlin-based artist has been a regular across some of dance music's esteemed imprints. His work for Ubersee Music, Elektrolux, Allisum and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile Horizons, has given Chris a highly respected place at dance music's top table, as he now makes his Particles debut.

"Glossy" is an immaculately engineered offering that sparkles with progressive splendour. Full of percussive vibrancy and swung, head-shaking groove, a smooth bassline pattern adds subtle intensity to proceedings. Before long, a swathe of complementary melodic components make their play as cadenced plucks provide dancefloor character and a compelling, ceaseless energy. Through shaker pattern, well-placed clap and snare fills and a rising club-friendly pace, "Glossy" is a masterfully produced affair that is certain to find favour with DJs across the world.

Simos Tagias has played a significant part in Proton history with 30 production credits split across its labels. The "Airlock" and "Audacity" EPs in 2017 and 2018 saw the Greek artist chart a serene path through the Proton Music catalogue, as have a clutch of remixes for the likes of Dimuth K, LADS and GMJ. Similarly, the "Restricted Area" and "Drunk State" original tracks made their mark on Particles in 2014 before reworkings of Antrim and James Monro in 2017. Further remixes of Gaston Ponte and Tongue & Groove lit up the second half of 2022 and the early part of 2023 as Simos Tagias now returns to Particles for a seventh remix on the label.

Reworking "Glossy" with typically impressive flair, the core themes of the original form the basis for a new rhythmic pattern to revolve around a heavy beat and steady bassline sequence. An atmospheric vocal cut, drenched in delay adds atmosphere aplenty as trademark pads and enthralling chord progressions create multi-faceted layers of additional production. Building through a gloriously evocative breakdown, the second half blossoms into another dancefloor gem as a metrical synth pattern creates an imaginative and effortless remix.

Shining brightly with a "Glossy" and deftly produced original work, Chris Zippel is a welcome addition to the Particles roster.

With fastidious attention to detail and a penchant for combining analogue synthesizers and real instruments, Davide has managed to sculpt a sound that lies somewhere between "Deep House and cinematic soundtracks". "Home" is the result of this distinctive sound as Davide Ferrario brings together a dozen tracks of star quality including remixes from Pambouk and Mike Dem. From the elegant and emotive opener, ambient effects shift in patterns around the central piano theme of "It All Started With Some Rain", before the silky vocal phrasing of Alex Uhlmann adds an atmospheric layer to the deeper melodic vibe of "Falling Down". The club-friendly feel of "Alethia" then introduces a pulsating pad texture alongside trademark piano motifs in a track full of subtle power. Vocal performances from Jack Jaselli and Ivan Sagreto add further to "Everything" and "My Closest" – the former atop a simple rolling groove and multi-layered combination of growling synth lines, sumptuous chord progressions and beautiful piano; the latter a complex poly-rhythmic affair that glistens with light keys and wonderfully conceived bassline groove that transforms in a growling club-friendly stormer. Closing out the set of original tracks, "Home" and "Thauma" thrill with instrumental poise. The dance-oriented title track sees a strong beat and percussive top-line hold anchor under melancholy-soaked pads and sweeping arpeggio, while "Thauma" is a piece of perfect electronica that closes the album as it opens – with Davide's flair for melodic composition and elegant combination of synth programming. The result is a tender and heartfelt collection of original music. Pambouk is no stranger to success. Having explored a variety of genres under a raft of different production monikers, the Lebanese producer has captured the attention of the underground dance fraternity with his blend of "organic and cinematic sounds" and music signed to BiG AL's Ready Mix Records, Kora's Saisons and Armen Miran's Hoomidaas. Making his Particles debut after a remix of Nōpi's "Liquid Week" on Proton Music with fellow countryman Hrag Mikkel, Pambouk's remix of "Home" is replete with Organic House credentials as a complex rhythmic pattern holds sway over the 8-minute epic. Building gradually, familiar melodic elements from the original make their presence felt as they are transformed into a superlative dancefloor track that showcases Pambouk's impressive credentials. Using a new bassline based on Davide's chord progression in the second half, the result is a dynamic and driving powerhouse of a remix.

The second remixer sees Mike Dem take centre stage. An Italian DJ and producer, his performances at the Tomorrowland Festival as well as global performances with the likes of Claptone, Axwell and Martin Garrix, have seen a production career in tandem achieve considerable success. Work for Individual Music, MoBlack Records and My Other Side of the Moon testify to an impressive portfolio over the course of a decade and a century of credits since 2013. Now making his Particles debut, the Mike Dem remix of "Falling Down" opens with a deep kick as stripped back vocal lines from Alex Uhlmann come to the fore. Transformed from the second movement, a smooth bassline groove and syncopated synth phrase create an entirely new direction. Cleverly using elements from Davide's original to sublime effect, stuttered vocals and familiar refrains are scattered across the 5-minute interpretation to create a unique and extraordinary work.

A stellar collection of original material combined with remixes from Pambouk and Mike Dem finds Davide Ferrario very much at "Home" on Particles.

A returning artist to the Particles fold, Dave Leck opens 2024 with a brand-new track as "Opal" shines alongside remixes from Erdi Irmak and Izzet. Debuting on the label in August 2019, "Stardust" was the first of three original EPs that saw Dave Leck hit the ground running. "Primal Connection" followed in early 2020 before "Elevate" completed a trio of outstanding original releases in March 2022. Another two-year gap now sees "Opal" create a mesmerising percussive groove while trademark melodic phrasing sits elegantly above. Immaculately cadenced, open filters provide dancefloor vibrancy that waxes and wanes with subtle intensity. Pausing for breath at the mid-point, the track picks up the pace with a hypnotic arpeggio lighting up the second half atop elements built in earlier movements.

Erdi Irmak is no stranger to Proton catalogues with a raft of original and remix production work on both labels. Over 75 production credits include 7 volumes of the "Hidden Arcadia" series on Proton Music and a raft of original work en route. The full-length album, "You're Either Guilty or Not Guilty" was a Particles highlight in 2014 followed by 2017's "Zero" and remixes for Aeron Aether, Mio & His Flute and Stories Of Others. Now returning to the label for the first time in nearly three years, Erdi Irmak takes "Opal" in a typically majestic direction. Anchored by a heavy beat and vibrant bassline, the cadenced feel of the original is reinterpreted to create a deliciously smooth new groove that intelligently reworks elements from Dave Leck's track. Full of dancefloor energy, spellbinding melodic phrases coruscate over each other in shimmering, interlaced patterns to create an impressive tour de force from the Istanbul-based star.

The final track sees the return of Particles favourite, Izzet. Centred around 2019's "Summer Goodbye", 2021's "Abstract Distortion" and March 2022's "Puncher" EPs, remixes for the likes of Rafa'EL, Pole Folder and Petar Dundov have shown the multiple facets of the Russian's artistry as he now adds to his catalogue with a driving reworking of "Opal". Founded upon a cone-melting sub-bassline, a heavy kick and ticking hi-hats create a heavy-duty groove. Simultaneously, elements from Dave Leck's original are re-envisioned to provide an innovative melodic arrangement. The familiar arpeggio, central to the original makes its presence felt as the track develops, with a delicate tension played out as the melodic and bass phrases pull subtly against each other.

Refracted in multi-coloured arrays with remixes from Erdi Irmak and Izzet, Dave Leck has unearthed another jewel with his "Opal".

Formed as a sister imprint of Madhouse in 2012, Madtech Records has since clocked up hundreds of releases from some of house music’s best emerging talent, as well as material from some of the biggest names on the scene. Following on from their latest instalment, Madtech’s Various Artist series returns this July tying together productions from Dutch producer Aron Volta, following releases on the likes of Blind Visions and PIV Records, Downhill Music label boss and Spanish artist Juliche Hernandez, recent Nurvous Records signee Lose Endz and Amsterdam’s Attek.

Kicking things off, acid melodies float in and out of Aron Volta’s intricately crafted ‘Eprom Burner’, a cut held together by a deep bass groove and spiralling effects, until Juliche Hernandez layers robotic zaps, spacey atmospherics and bouncy pads with echoing vocals to evoke an otherworldly feel in ‘Orbitax’. Next up, Lose Endz’ ‘Pirucha’ takes it darker with raw kicks, a dubby bass and warm atmospherics, while Attek’s ‘Stuck In My Head’ is a stripped back Detroit house number, coloured with crispy high hats and soulful stabbing chords.
